Knuckles' Chaotix
1
Attachment Like most of the other Classic Sonic games, Knuckles' Chaotix features multiple endings. While the "bad endings" of other 90s Sonic games tend to simply run off of implication (such as having Dr. Eggman taunt the player while in possession of a given game's powerful MacGuffin), the bad ending of Knuckles' Chaotix opts to directly show the consequences for the player's failure to collect the Chaos Rings, and shows Metal Sonic Kai demolishing a city into flames on-screen.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

One of Hideo Kojima's early ideas for the game's ending was to have Snake and Otacon turn themselves in to the United Nations for breaking the law (presumably for the crimes they committed while operating as Philantropy during Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), and be convicted and executed. The rest of the developers reacted negatively to this ending, which resulted in Kojima changing it. However, it's possible a remnant of this ending was left behind in the form of the game's end credits theme, a cover of "Here's to You", originally written for the 1971 Italian docudrama film "Sacco & Vanzetti". Both the song and film are based on the real-life case of two Italian anarchists who migrated to the United States in 1908, and in 1920 were convicted and sentenced to death after being accused of murdering two people during an armed robbery. The original 1971 recording of the song would later be used as the opening theme to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

During the first fight with Leon, it is possible to defeat him either through cheating or by grinding to at least level 12 beforehand. Beating him will trigger a short cutscene showing a secret ending to the game where Spoiler:Rutee briefly lambasts Leon and then forcibly enlists an upset Stahn to join her and Mary in becoming an infamous trio of globe-trotting Lens hunters, before the game abruptly returns to the title screen. This ending is not featured in the game's PlayStation 2 remake, as Leon's fight is redesigned to be impossible to defeat.
Mischief Makers

Attachment When you first start up the game, it asks for an age between 00 and 99. Spoiler:This age choice does not refer to the player, but to the main protagonist Marina Liteyears, and has an effect on one frame in the true ending of the game. If Marina's age is set to 15 years or younger, her true human form will be physically closer to that of a child. If her age is set to 16 years or older, her true human form will be closer to that of an adult.

Attachment In the game's standard ending (without collecting all 64 cubes and anti-cubes), the music that plays is a distorted rendition of Frédéric François Chopin's Prelude in E-Minor, Op. 28 No. 4. This reference is also acknowledged near the end of the credits.

In the ending cutscene, Spoiler:Chip says "Sonic you must live", but the subtitles mistakenly say "Sonic you have to live"
Catherine
1
Attachment In the "True Katherine" ending, Spoiler:Erica Anderson is revealed to be a transgender woman, with the credits revealing that she was originally raised under the name Eric. She is additionally referred to by her birth name in the Japanese version's manual, which lists her sex as male. This treatment of her generated controversy in the years since the game's release on whether or not it negated the positive elements of her "flawed but realistic" characterization.

Catherine: Full Body further stoked controversy both in and out of Japan regarding the character. The game's marketing highlighted a scene where Spoiler:Vincent reacts to the sight of Erica's naked body with shock, which drew criticisms of invoking a transphobic trope where men are disturbed by the sight of a transgender woman's genitals. Additionally, the game itself includes an alternate ending in which Spoiler:Catherine goes back in time and starts dating Vincent in high school, with a time-skip showing Erica pre-transition. Although the ending heavily implies that she will still transition later on, many audiences interpreted it as advocating that transgender people continue presenting as their assigned gender at birth.
