During the final battle in the Japanese version, Spoiler:a voiceover from Zelda states that the monstrous form that Calamity Ganon assumes is due to his obsession with maintaining his longevity. However, in the English localization, Spoiler:Zelda claims that this form is the result of him abandoning his ambitions for reincarnation and giving into his primal rage, which directly contrasts the Japanese script.
This also opens up a plot hole with Spoiler:Zelda's dialogue in the game's ending, where she says that "Ganon is gone for now" (emphasis added), implying that he will reincarnate anyway (as is the case in other entries, including the game's sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom); in the Japanese version, she simply says that "the threat of calamity has passed."

If you listen closely to the music being played in the Divine Beasts, you can make out Morse code for "S.O.S." This is very likely a distress call the Champions made when they were attacked by the Ganon Blights 100 years prior to the start of the game.

After Link recalls the 12 memories, Impa shows him a picture of the 13th memory located east of Dueling Peaks Stable. If Link takes a photo of the picture with his Shiekah slate before going to the site, he'll take it out and look at it as he did with the other 12. If not, he recalls the memory while keeping the Shiekah slate put away.

If timed correctly, it's possible to shoot a horse with ice arrows and have it keep the "frozen" texture that covers its body when Link drowns in deep water from having no stamina immediately afterwards. When Link respawns, the player can find the frozen horse in motion and can ride it like a normal horse, however putting the horse in a stable returns it to normal.

During a demo at E3 2016, the Shiekah Slate had the ability to reveal an enemy's Hit Points. To do so, the players would hold the Wii U gamepad up to the screen and hold the cursor at the enemy who's Hit Points they want to see. This was removed because of how cumbersome it was and how it was almost no help in helping players on how to analyze enemy camps.

Inside the last room in the Sword Monk's Shrine, after completing the Trial of the Sword, there are seven monks with their arms in positions representing poses of the seven Sages in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Zelda's pose is during the final battle with Gannon and the other six Sages' poses are from inside the Chamber of Light after defeating the corresponding temples to release the Sages.

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Making of a Champion art book, an excerpt states Link's hometown is likely Hateno Village. An image in the book also seems to imply that the house for sale was Link's old house.

A save glitch exists that allows a player to exit the Shrine of Resurrection without the Sheikah Slate; without the Sheikah Slate, the player cannot warp and does not have a map but can use runes, control Divine Beasts and interact with terminals. Time is also stopped, preventing Blood Moons.
If the player desires to obtain the Sheikah Slate later, he/she can by returning to the Shrine of Resurrection.

Inside the game's files is a picture containing Link doing a pose next to Zelda. What's interesting about this is that Link's "Hero of the Wild" hat and tunic were changed in the final release. The length of the sleeve and cuffing were also shortened in the final version; it was rolled up slightly and thinner as seen in the photo. The gold trim on his hat was subdued green in the final release, likely because the 8-bit Link amiibo had a similar form.
