Attachment Inside Banjo's house is a portrait of Banjo & Kazooie walking through a forest. While commonly believed to be an early screenshot of the level Fungi Forest which would later appear in Donkey Kong 64, this is actually a screenshot from an early build of Banjo-Kazooie's prototype Dream: Land of Giants, after the original protagonist was replaced by Banjo.

Judging by an unused file in the game data, the mission "No Russian" was originally going to take place in a real-life location: Domodedovo Int'l Airport in Moscow. It was probably changed to a fictional one in order to avoid further controversy.

Massato Kato stated in a Chrono Trigger Ultimania interview that he and Yuji Horii intended for Crono Spoiler:to stay dead after the Ocean Palace scenario. The party would have to then retrieve a version of Crono pre-dating the Millennial Fair to complete the quest, and then return him to his home time, Spoiler:bitter-sweetly knowing he would go on to die at the Ocean Palace. Doom
1
Attachment In versions of Doom prior to 1.4, a room in the level "E1M4: Command Control" features a sector shaped like a swastika. According to John Romero, this is a reference to Wolfenstein 3D, an FPS previously developed by id where the protagonist fights Nazis.

"Yes, [in Commander Keen 5] there is a swastika in one of the levels, one of my levels to be exact, but I removed it shortly after the game was released because people were upset that an evil symbol was in a cute kid's game. It was a premonition of things to come, namely, Wolfenstein 3D. I also put a swastika in Doom's E1M4 as a Wolf3D reference, but I changed it later for the exact same reason."
