Resident Evil 2
1
The game's trial disc contains a number of unused voice clips. These include:
*Unused death screams for Leon and Claire
*A longer conversation between Marvin and Leon than what is in the final game in which Marvin begs Leon to shoot him in the head should he turn into a zombie.
*A clip of Ada saying "G-Virus..." in a more serious tone hinting at familiarity with the term.
*Leon shouting "Hold your fire!" in the parking lot when Ada shoots at him.
Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition
1
Attachment In the Pikachu's Beach minigame, there is an unused 'Radness' bonus of 750 points coded into the game. There appears to be no way to achieve this without hacking.
BioShock Infinite
1
At the end of the game, Spoiler:while exploring the various lighthouses with Elizabeth, an unused snowy hill, observatory and bridge can be found far off in the distance, hidden under the game's map. The door to the observatory is functional, but only leads to an infinite void.
Crash Team Racing
1
There is a persistent rumor that N. Oxide was intended to be a playable character, unlocked through completing various tasks and beating certain records in the game. Although he can be selected using a cheat device, he is extremely buggy, and will most likely crash the game. According to the developers, they once considered making him a playable character, but were unable to due to the extremely limited memory of the Playstation, and his boss level was designed with those limitations in mind in order to make him functional.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
1
Attachment There are four different types of pizza in the game data: "speedy", "whirly", "sappy", and "energy". Only the energy pizza is used, and restores health. The other three might have been used to give different power-ups, and are color-coded for each of the four turtles. The rom even includes unused sprites of Donatello holding and firing a laser pistol.
F-Zero GX
1
GX has an unused course named st00 in the stage folder of the ROM. It will call the assets from Sand Ocean with the track Screw Drive (Aeropolis) when unarchived or viewed through GX's model viewer debug option. Strangely, though, when using either cheat codes to access the stage in-game or using the game's debug stage viewer, it will only load universal assets such as zippers and the starting gate, along with the collision data of Twist Road (Mute City). However, it does not appear to be a test course, but it's purpose appears to be to prevent the game from crashing when starting up the stage viewer, as it always loads st00.
Diddy Kong Racing
1
There are a grand total of 6 unused tracks present in the game's data. One called "Horseshoe Gulch" can be accessed using a cheat device, and seems to be used for the title screen intro. Two of the other maps seem to be early versions of Hot Top Volcano. Another, simply called Cube Test, is also found within the data of Jet Force Gemini and Mickey's Speedway USA.
The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning
1
Originally, there was to be a mini quest for Spyro to retrieve Ignitus' battle armor from the "Ape Wars" shortly after meeting him. Neither the background story nor the quest made it in the final game, although the models were used as decoration throughout the swamp.
Final Fantasy IV
1
Nearly all of the items that could invoke magic spells were made inaccessible in the western release titled Final Fantasy II, as well as the subsequent Japan-only Easy Type release. Still retained were the FireBomb/Red Fang and the Lit-Bolt/Blue Fang, which are shown in the opening demonstration battles. The Lit-Bolt/Blue Fang item cannot be found in the game itself, however. Additionally, all of the items intended to cure a single status effect were also been made inaccessible, replaced by the Heal/Heal-All Potion, which was made cheaper in stores. Many treasure chests, shop inventories, and monster drops were modified to remove these dummied items.
Grand Theft Auto IV
1
Attachment An unused map icon representing a boat can be found in the game's files. Its file name is radar_boattour, suggesting that a boat tour service was once available in the game.
Grand Theft Auto IV
1
Attachment The pool cue from the pool mini-game is categorized as a weapon, but cannot be acquired outside the context of the mini-game, and thus cannot be used as a weapon. It has all the necessary data, including a HUD icon.
Grand Theft Auto IV
1
Attachment There are two scrapped haircut designs in the game: one resembling helmet-hair, and the other a buzz cut. These still exist in the game's data and can be modded in.
Street Fighter: The Movie
1
Attachment While Blanka's digitized sprites were created at the same time as the other characters, he did not appear in the Arcade version of the game. However, beating arcade mode with the normally-unplayable "Super Bison" by hacking the character select values will play an ending sequence for Blanka instead of Bison.
Metal Slug
1
Attachment Nazca, the company who created the first Metal Slug, didn't have an official logo, and since they were bought by SNK after the first game, their name was never displayed. However, the tiles of the first game contain two logos for the company, one static and one spinning. Neither of them were used in the actual game, though there is still an unused jingle to play alongside them in the game's code.
Team Fortress 2
1
Attachment An unused head model with 3 different skins for the Heavy robot (with red, blue, and yellow eyes) can be found in the files for Team Fortress 2.
Kingdom Hearts II
1
In the Proof of Existence area of the Castle That Never Was, there are panels for each of the Organization members, represented by that member's weapon. However, Zexion's panel is so damaged, it's impossible to see his weapon. This is due to his weapon not being revealed in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, as the player never fought him.
Grand Theft Auto IV
1
Attachment A Zastava M70 was supposed to appear in game, but was most likely replaced with the AK-47. It can be seen during the second trailer for the game, "Looking For That Special Someone".
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
1
Through use of Gameshark or Action Replay cheats, it is possible to get "Saria's Song", as well as the "Sun's Song" from Ocarina of Time. The "Sun's Song" has no difference from Ocarina of Time, and fast-forwards time to the next day. "Saria's Song", however, doesn't do anything.
Pokémon Gold Version
subdirectory_arrow_right Pokémon Silver Version (Game)
1
Attachment The map of the Pokémon Laboratory on Cinnabar Island can be found complete in the data for Gold and Silver. This could suggest that there were once plans to include the laboratory in the game.
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
1
There are three unused items left in the game's code: the Band-Aid, the Queen of the Night, and the Plant Encyclopedia. All have their own description and are worth 800 affection points when given to a girl.
