Attachment In a trailer for the game, a counter for the Gobbos/Pau Paus is seen showing off how many Gobbos/Pau Paus the player has collected. This feature was later removed from the finished version of the game.

Chrom was originally intended to be a playable character in the game, but was replaced with Robin as Sakurai thought he'd play too similar to Marth and Ike, and that Robin would be a more unique character. Chrom still however appeared as a part of Robin's Final Smash, and did become playable in the next game in the franchise, Ultimate
Hyrule Warriors

During Nintendo's E3 2014 Nintendo Treehouse event, Midna was shown having two separate weapon slots, hinting at her having an additional moveset, while in the final product she only has one. It is currently unknown why her second slot was removed.

Attachment According to a game modeller that worked on the game who goes under the alias "Zanzibar", the grey-skinned alien guards found in the Tatooine levels were originally meant to be Gamorrean Guards. LucasFilm, however, for reasons unknown, requested that they be changed saying, "Lose the Gamorrean Guards. Make them something else."

The grey-skinned alien guards were designed by LucasArts artist Martin Yee.

There was originally a meter for Scar's health during the Pride Rock level towards the end of the game, however this was removed before release.

Attachment There are 3D models for both Aeris and Tonberry in the game's data that are never used. Aeris may have been considered as an assist character, considering she appeared in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.

Etrian Odyssey

A battle theme entitled "The Battlefield that Never Sleeps" can be found in the game's soundtrack, but it is never used in-game. However, when its remake came out, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, the song was used when fighting against the Yggdrasil Core in a remixed edition, or as originally found on the soundtrack if the game's music setting is set to "old".

In the game's demo, the player had the option of letting go of Yorda's hand after catching her when she jumps across the bridge. This feature was removed completely in the final release.
