The boss Phoenix Magnion has an attack that summons ghostly images of the characters Vile, Agile, Bit and Colonel (who were introduced in Mega Man X1 - X4, respectively) to attack Zero. Interesting facts to note is that two of the enemies, Agile and Bit, are never actually met in gameplay by Zero in either X2 or X3, and Bit, for the first time, is seen in gameplay using his shield that was formerly only seen in concept and other official art, not gameplay.

Ever since the first King's Field game, From Software has included a weapon called the Moonlight Sword in many of their game titles. The structure of both its exact name and appearance varies from title to title, but it has appeared in many of their games, including King's Field, Armored Core, Demon's and Dark Souls, and 3D Dot Game Heroes. They even named an RPG making program for PC based on King's Field called "Sword of Moonlight: King's Field Making Tool".

In the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts, the Chernabog fight does not have the "Night on Bald Mountain" music. Instead the regular boss music will play. The "Night on Bald Mountain" music was added to the international release to make the scene more true to the scene from Fantasia. The music was added into the Final Mix version of the game.

There is a way to kill The End before you even fight him. If you swim to a hiding place across from the Ponizovje Warehouse, you are in a perfect spot to snipe him. If you do kill him this way, Zero and the other support team members will congratulate you for killing him, although Snake will express disappointment in killing him in the manner that he did, as was hoping that he'd actually face him in battle. If you do this in the HD Collection, you will get an achievement called "The Early End."

The city is populated by the vengeful ghosts of those who were martyred in order to prevent the spread of the Abyss. To do this you have to find the 5 hidden switches from Holt Village, after which a message saying "A dark shadow looms over Holt Village" appears. The in-game descriptions of the Mask of the Sealer and the Remedy sorcery speak of two other Sealers aside from Ingward who abandoned their duty to watch over the Seal of New Londo. One Sealer, Yulva, is said in the Remedy description to have gone to Blighttown to cure the sick. It can be speculated the corpse where the Crimson Set, Tin Banishment Catalyst and Remedy spell, all of which would be associated with a Sealer, is her.

The second is unnamed, but there is only one other male NPC in the game who wears the complete Sealer set, sans the mask. It is worth noting that the Mask of the Sealer was a "symbol of their resolve", which he would lack had he abandoned his duty. In Anor Londo when confronting Lautrec with the Black Eye Orb, he can be seen assisting Lautrec as a White Phantom. Seeing as Phantoms exist outside of the player's true timeline, it is unclear whether or not the man remains alive in the game's present.

The Old Monk, the boss of world 3-3, is arguably one of the most unique bosses in video game history. While at its base the fight is merely a Black Phantom enemy NPC summoned by the Monk himself, when Online Play is activated the Black Phantom can actually be another player. Any players with summon signs in the Tower of Latria can be summoned to play the role of the Monk's Black Phantom. The Black Phantom players retain all their equipment and abilities, as well as gaining some innate magic attacks by the Monk, giving the boss fight incredibly diverse possibilities.
