Early footage of Dinosaur Planet shows that Sabre and Krystal were to utilize the Projectile spell by firing it directly from their hands. It seems this was already scrapped by the time of the December 2000 build that was leaked on the internet in early 2021, as Sabre (or Fox McCloud, who has already replaced Sabre at this point) and Krystal instead fire projectiles through their sword and staff respectively. This would carry over into Star Fox Adventures, where Fox can fire magic projectiles through Krystal's staff.
One holdover from this early idea that remains in both the December 2000 build of Dinosaur Planet and the final Star Fox Adventures is within the prologue, where Krystal, riding on top of a CloudRunner, is inexplicably shown to be able to fire blasts of magic from her own hands in the battle against General Scales' galleon.
Unused models of both Sabre and Krystal's arms can be found within the files of the leaked Dinosaur Planet ROM.

On July 17, 2023, Neopets was purchased from NetDragon through a management buyout deal by Dominic Law, the Neopets Chief Metaverse Officer and former Director of New Markets at both NetDragon and Cherrypicks. This led to the formation of "World of Neopia, Inc.", a company comprised of team members from both Neopets and Neopets Metaverse, with Law serving as CEO. As part of this, it was announced that Neopets had received $4 million in investment money in early 2023, with additional funding from the management buyout equipping World of Neopia, Inc. to make "meaningful changes in pursuit of a Neopian renaissance." These changes include revamping the homepage and creating the 2024 mobile game "World of Neopets".

Despite the English version of Melee using Star Fox Adventures' voice cast in the game's Corneria and Venom stages, the Japanese version uses all of the original Star Fox 64 voice actors. Shinobu Satouchi, Hisao Egawa, Kyoko Tongu and Tomohisa Aso all reprise their roles as Fox, Falco, Slippy and Peppy respectively. The former two's voice clips are also used for Fox and Falco as fighters even abroad.

There is an unused 7th stage in PaRappa the Rapper, which seems to be an encore of the final stage where audience members - including PaRappa's rival Joe Chin - come on stage and copy PaRappa's rhymes instead of the other way around. This concept would be used in PaRappa the Rapper 2 as an encore following the final stage's Cool Mode.

Inside the files of Wii Fit is an early model for the trainer who less resembles a mannequin and moreso appears to be distinctly white with blonde hair and almost fully realistic. The exceptions to this being her feet which have no toes, and her clothes that - while roughly the same color as the final character - are textureless (note that the attached image appears to be wearing a white onesie due to a rendering error). Based on the structure of the model and the full version of her body texture, it is apparent that the model was originally nude and the developers simply retextured parts of her body to create her clothing. The clothing meshes have their UV data removed, making them unable to use the body texture. The trainer also has a few unused animations of some warm-up stretches and yoga poses, but her shoulders get distorted and inverted due to how they are rigged. Additionally, while the warm-up poses flow together, the yoga poses (different steps of the Tree pose) are almost completely still and have no transition between them.

Flappy Bird was inspired by the act of bouncing a ping pong ball against a paddle with a string.

Flappy Bird was not originally a difficult game, but during development the pipes were moved closer together as the game was found to be boring when it was too easy.

At the start of the game's development, Black Tabby Games did not think that their previous game, Scarlet Hollow, was financially successful enough to support the studio on its own through a projected five-year development timeline, leading them to pursue a second game with fewer assets and a shorter development time. Tony Howard-Arias and Abby Howard, the only two members of the company, were inspired by a game jam entry named "Claim Your FREE BitBuddy™ Today!", which had impressed Howard-Arias for how much emotional storytelling was put into a small game. This led to them discussing a concept for a horror story confined to a few locations with a single character on screen at a time.

Early titles for Flicky include Flippy and Busty, both names were changed due to copyright issues, along with Flippy sounding too close to one of Flicky's inspirations, Mappy, and "busty" being a lewd American slang term. The name Flippy got so far in usage that promotional flyers exist with the title.

The Japan-exclusive Super Famicom version of Monopoly was produced by famed Japanese copywriter and essayist Shigesato Itoi (best known to people outside of Japan as the creator of Nintendo's EarthBound series), who is a champion Monopoly player and the leader of the Japanese Monopoly association. Itoi also served as a supervisor on the game's Japan-exclusive sequel, The Monopoly Game 2.

Nintendo planned to release the 64DD in North America and even manufactured test units with fully translated BIOSes and functional region locking. However, the idea was ultimately dropped due to the add-on's low sales in Japan. Concrete proof of these plans wouldn't become public until 2016, when YouTuber Jason Lindsey (a.k.a. MetalJesusRocks) found a surviving test unit and verified its legitimacy with former Nintendo of America employee Mark DeLoura.

Dragon Rock originally just featured eerie sounding ambience for background music in Dinosaur Planet. In Star Fox Adventures, Walled City now shares the same stage music with LightFoot Village.

Masanao Arimoto, who took over Takaya Imamura's role as the character and sprite artist for Star Fox 2 from the first game, seemed to have cycled through a wide variety of new character pilots designs to represent the two Light class Arwing models, before finally settling on Fay (a spaniel) and Miyu (a Lynx). These beta designs were discovered in the Nintendo Gigaleak of 2020.
Some of these include a sheep, a bear, a deer, a hippo, and even Fara Phoenix (dubbed internally as "lady") from the 1993 Star Fox Nintendo Power comics. The sheep design would actually appear in an issue of Super Game Power magazine that had a feature on Star Fox 2 (before it was cancelled) along with Miyu, making it clear that it was an early design for what would become Fay.
What's also notable and curious is that there seem to be unused female human pilots found within the Gigaleak. It is speculated that Arimoto drew these up as generic templates to base the new female characters' designs off of, rather than introduce human characters into the Star Fox series specifically like what has been theorized since the Gigaleak. The fact that there are multiple different variants of the same non-descript woman with none of them being a different gender compared to the vastly more distinctive anthro designs that Arimoto brainstormed adds credence to this theory.

While Star Fox 64 would mark the debut of Star Wolf, the rival team of Star Fox, they were originally meant to debut in Star Fox 2, which was cancelled for twenty years before seeing an official release for the SNES Classic in 2017.
Something that's very peculiar in the final build of Star Fox 2, however, is how most of the mainstays of the Star Wolf team, such as Wolf O'Donnell, Pigma Dengar, and Leon Powalski, are present, all except for one: Andross' nephew, Andrew Oikonny. In his place is what appears to be a lemur character named "Algy", who is described by SF2's online manual as being rumoured to be "the most devious creature in the cosmos".
What makes this even more strange is the fact that Andrew actually was initially conceived for SF2, as a piece of concept art drawn by series' character designer Takaya Imamura portrays him along with Wolf, Leon and Pigma. In fact, there actually exists evidence that, by the time of Star Fox 2's gold build, Algy was still internally referred to as Andrew in the game's source code, which makes it all the more clear that Andrew was indeed planned to be in SF2 before being changed out for Algy.
It's worth pointing out, however, that despite being the main character designer for the first Star Fox, as well as future games like Star Fox 64, Imamura actually had very little to do with Star Fox 2's development, outside of the aforementioned initial Star Wolf concept art and also play-testing and advising towards the end, being only listed as under SF2's "Special Thanks" credits. Another staff member at Nintendo, named Masanao Arimoto, took over his duties as character/sprite designer for SF2. Comparing his final spritework to the original concept art, one could see that Arimoto took a lot of creative liberties with Imamura's initial designs, the latter of which look more closer to how the Star Wolf characters would look in Star Fox 64, with the most glaring example being Andrew transformed into an effectively different character.
It's pretty obvious that when Takaya Imamura returned for Star Fox 64 as its art director, Algy was reverted back into Andrew Oikonny.

Chris Hendricks, a former artist and composer for Club Penguin, was originally against the inclusion of the game's main villain Herbert P. Bear, as he felt that Club Penguin was a game that was meant to be "safe and fun" and thus didn't need a villain. However, during development of the PSA missions, it became apparent that it was becoming difficult to put obstacles in the player's way without some sort of villain behind it. The team member who first pitched the idea of adding a villain to the game initially came up with the idea of there being three polar bears: a boss bear, a skinny vegetarian henchman bear, and a big stupid bear who would lift heavy objects and be endearing and lovable. Some staff, however, felt that this was too many bears, and eventually reached a compromise: take all the best attributes of the three bears, combine them into one bear, and give him a lovable sidekick.
Chris, however, was still concerned about the idea of adding a villain, so to both build up mystery and try to appease him, the story was developed so that the villain wouldn't be revealed until the fifth mission: in the third mission, the only evidence of the villain was white fur. This gave them a potential escape route in case players didn't want a villain in the game, as they could have the fourth mission reveal that the whole thing was a misunderstanding and that a white puffle (which hadn't debuted at that point) was to blame. As it would turn out, fans loved the idea of a villain, so the fourth mission would give a shadowy teaser of the villain, before the full reveal of Herbert P. Bear in the fifth mission. Chris would later admit that he was wrong to not want a villain in the game, as Herbert became one of his favorite characters, and led to the introduction of other memorable villains (i.e. Tusk and Ultimate Proto-Bot 10000) as well.

In 2023, a set of extremely early Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl screenshots were shared through Discord by a developer, showing an aesthetic closer to Slap City and early versions of SpongeBob, Oblina, Leonardo, The Dump, Jellyfish Fields, and - most notably - Rooftop Rumble, based on Shredder's lair from the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show instead of the 80s TMNT (despite the 80s turtles having already been decided on this point). Also among the images was Hardcore Chores, Rocko's DLC stage, suggesting that a Rocko's Modern Life character may have been intended for base game.

The reason why Ocean swapped out the theme songs to its loaders so often was because the coder for Ocean's loading engine, Paulie Hughes, would become annoyed by listening the same song over and over while producing master copies of so many games that had the same song.
