Attachment Rupin, the owner of the gear shop in Skyloft, has similar personality and physical traits to that of the Happy Mask Salesman from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Both have similar facial expressions, have mood swings and both are owners of shops. It could be implied that Rupin in an ancestor of the Happy Mask Salesman.

Rupin's name is also a pun on "Rupee", the currency used in almost all Zelda games.

It is theorized that Mega Man 5 was banned in Vietnam due to the inclusion of Napalm Man, a level design much like Viet Cong tunnels that includes traps, enemies named and designed after animals from areas in and around Vietnam, and more. Attachment The Fused Shadow from Twilight Princess bears a striking similarity to Majora's Mask. It is highly possible that Majora's Mask was created by the same tribe who made the fused shadow, known as The Interlopers. This is made even more probable due to the fact that Twili are seen frequently wearing masks, as Zant and his Guard both wear masks, as well as the Shadow Beasts. In addition, when you steal the Ordon Shield from the village in Twilight Princess, Midna attempts to wear it on her face, like you would a mask.
