Attachment Right before Richter fights Dracula at the start of the game, the two have a short conversation about his return and why humans summoned him back in the first place. In the original English localization of the game, Dracula says the line:

"What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets."

This line was not in the original Japanese script nor was it first written by translator Jeremy Blaustein for the game's English release. It originates from the 1967 essay "Antimémoires" by novelist André Malraux, who was France's Minister of Cultural Affairs at the time it was published.

Dōbutsu no Mori e+ is the only version of the original Animal Crossing to not be packaged with a promotional memory card (even the N64 Dōbutsu no Mori included a themed Controller Pak). This is because the game's extra content expands the maximum file size to 72 blocks: 57 for town data, 5 for saved letters at the post office, 5 for saved patterns at Able Sisters, 1 for NES save data, and 4 for travel data. While GameCube memory cards were officially available in larger 251-block and 1019-block sizes, all first-party cards bundled with games were manufactured exclusively in the minimum 59-block size.

Attachment In a post from April 26, 2021 detailing the Version 1.10.0 update (which released two days later), Nintendo showed off a screenshot containing a villager house not seen in any previous revision of the game. While this led to speculation about possible new villagers, Nintendo clarified on their Japanese website the following day that this was done in error, and that this house would not be appearing in the update; the image was promptly replaced with an alternate screenshot.

Coincidentally, 16 villagers would be added in the Version 2.0 update, but none of them use the house seen in the removed screenshot.

Attachment Within the data for the itch.io Mac 1.00 version of Chapter 2 is an early version of "Faint Courage", written in a lower key and lacking certain instrumental tracks compared to the final arrangement. The filename for this rendition is "audio_menu.ogg", implying that it was originally written for the Chapter 2 main menu before being refitted for the game over screen. The released game instead uses "Faint Glow" (which is replaced with "Before the Story" after completing the chapter), titled "menu.ogg" in the game's files, for the main menu. All other releases and revisions of Chapter 2 remove this unused song from the game's data.

With the Shadow Moses Island stage making a return, Snake's exclusive Codec Call Smash Taunts also return (which are triggered by rapidly pressing the down-taunt button once as Snake on the stage). However, no new codec calls were recorded, meaning it will only work for characters that were previously playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In fact, all but one of the old Brawl codecs were kept intact so they now contain many awkward slights and inaccuracies.

These include Brawl still being directly namedropped by the Colonel and Otacon instead of Ultimate during Jigglypuff and Sonic's codecs respectively, Mei Ling and Snake still discussing Sheik's transformation move that she no longer has as of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U as well as the two also referring to Lucario as having his old "purple flames" instead of his new "blue" ones, Otacon still mentioning the peanuts shot from Diddy Kong's peanut popgun being edible to recover damage despite only being the case with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Pokemon Trainer still being referred to with male pronouns despite having a new female alt in Ultimate, and Alph being referred to as Olimar, among other things.

The only codec that was edited for Ultimate was Link's, where the Clawshot was excluded from the list of weapons Otacon reports to Snake, as Link's redesign based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild removed it from his moveset.

There is a hidden feature that allows Pit to haggle with Shopkeepers to lower the prices of items.

In the NES release, this is done by simultaneously pressing A and B on a second controller. In the Famicom release, haggling is instead done using a second controller with a microphone on it, by holding A on the second controller and speaking into the microphone to haggle. In the 3D Classics port for the 3DS, haggling can be done by simultaneously pressing the A button and either Start or Select.

The main catch to haggling is that the prices will only be successfully lowered if Pit's health is one point higher than the first number of the stage he is currently haggling on (i.e. Pit's health must be at 2 arrows when haggling in World 1 to successfully haggle). Otherwise, the Shopkeeper will raise the prices instead.

However if you fail to haggle, the prices will not change until the Shopkeeper's text finishes scrolling, creating a small window of time to buy something at its original price just before they increase.

Piranha Plant's side special, Poison Breath, seems to come from the Paper Mario series, specifically from the Putrid Piranhas from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Piranha Plant's "bud" even changes color to match a Putrid Piranha's yellow and red color scheme during the attack. This would make Piranha Plant the only Mario series character to have a move derived from the Paper Mario series.

When Hero tries to use the spell Zoom indoors or under a ceiling in this game the Hero will instead bonk his head on the ceiling and the spell's teleportation will not work. This is in reference to the Dragon Quest games, where trying to do the same thing in the same situation will garner the same exact result.

The character roster is different between the console and handheld versions of the game. Colonel, Diesel, Leotsu, Nezu, and Auroch are omitted from the SNES, Game Gear, and Game Boy versions, whereas in the Sega Genesis and Amiga versions, the character roster is complete.

In addition, the handheld versions lack the Tournament Mode and digitized voice samples found in the console versions of the game.

The bonus stage music that is used in Tapper is a slight variation of the song "Here Comes the King", a jingle written to promote the alcoholic beverage Budweiser which was the first sponsor of Tapper and featured the drink's logos plastered on multiple screens in the game. After Anheuser-Busch ended their sponsorship and the game was revised as "Root Beer Tapper", some song names needed to be changed to avoid legal trouble.

When using Mallow's Psychopath move on enemies, a brief blurb representing the target's thoughts will pop up. In the Japanese release, a large number of them are references to Japanese popular culture, nodding to works such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Sailor Moon, Gundam, Fist of the North Star, Neon Genesis Evangelion, etc. In the English localization, most of these are either translated literally without accounting for the context, replaced with references to American popular culture (such as Madonna, Poltergeist II: The Other Side, and president Theodore Roosevelt), or otherwise completely rewritten.

Attachment In 2021, a secret display mode for the PlayStation 2 version of the game was discovered that involves first setting the standard video output to 480p (through the "Progressive Scan Mode" option), and then starting a new game with the profile name "PSONE". Doing this will cause the game to lower the standard output from 480p to 240p and disable texture filtering, making it more closely resemble a PlayStation game. For unknown reasons, this mode is referred to as "Christian Slater mode" in the source code.

The game manual featured throughout every version's cutscenes (except the DS version) is the cover from the Xbox 360 version. In the Canalave Library there is a Book that was not in the original games for the DS, called the "The Sea's Legend", that the game describes as being "recently discovered" and that states the mysterious following text:

Spoiler:"Once upon a time in the East Sea, there was a Pokémon known as the prince. A brave human asked Pokémon living in the sea to let them see the prince. Mantyke, Buizel, and a Quilfish with huge spikes acknowledged the human's bravery and joined them. Together, they set off in a boat over the sunset-streaked sea, sailing through the ocean gate stretched over the waves. News of this reached the ears of the prince, who went to meet the brave little party at the Seaside Hollow."

It's possible that this text was put into Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Spoiler:to tease the upcoming game Pokemon Legends: Arceus via giving the player a hint of a storyline or event that may happen in the latter game's plot. Furthering the suspicious nature of the text, Game Freak, when sending out review copies of the games, forbid any reviewer from talking about any of the text in the library.
