Exclusive to the PlayStation Vita version is a new collectible item called Relics that are gradually put together to unlock two mosaic cutscene rooms in the Snoring Tree. Each mosaic features origin stories for Rayman and Globox that contradict the originally planned origin story shown in the game's debut trailer. Rayman's origin story depicts him as Spoiler:originally having been bald and having a girlfriend with an afro, and showing the incident that gave him his hair. Globox's origin story depicts him as Spoiler:originally having red skin, and showing the incident that gave him his blue skin.

In the Campsite map, there are a few references to popular horror media:

•A stick figure can be found on a gate which is the same stick figure the three main characters frequently find in the woods in the found-footage horror film The Blair Witch Project.

•Going to the lake and pointing any other source of light toward the water will cause a hockey mask to surface. This is a clear homage to horror film villain Jason Voorhees from the campsite-set slasher franchise Friday the 13th.

•Also pointing a source of light toward any area in the woods may reveal the internet creepypasta character Slenderman, however he is quite hard to see unless the player looks closely.

In Back 4 Blood's Beta there was an unintentionally defective ladder in a warehouse section of the game that accidentally caused the players character to die upon using it. The game's devs decided to poke fun at this, after fixing said glitch in the final release of the game, by adding graffiti on the wall adjacent to the ladder that tells player to use caution when using it. They also had Mum comment on the "suspicious" ladder when she approaches it by telling the other characters to be careful on it.

Attachment In the Japanese version of the game, the Spoiler:mock-VCR HUD icons that appear during Spamton NEO's ultimate attack in Chapter 2's Weird Route include two kanji-related puns: Spoiler:the "WRECK" icon and the "PAUSE" icon are respectively given the non-standard translations "殺エイ中" and "テイ死" instead of the typical "撮影中" and "ていし". The former includes an alternate reading of the kanji for "kill," while the latter uses the kanji for "death," tying in with Spoiler:Spamton's habit of replacing instances of "だい" and "です" with the phonetically-similar English words "die" and "death" throughout the Japanese script.

Attachment The Version 1.07 patch adds in a new Easter egg surrounding Spoiler:the Pipis enemies that can be encountered on the Weird Route; entering a battle with one now has a 1% chance of spawning "Ms. Pipis", a Pipis with a pink bow on it. This difference is purely cosmetic, and the enemy functions identically to a standard Pipis. In the official notes for the patch, this Easter egg is alluded to by the text Spoiler:Pipis Fanservice, which is tucked in the bottom-right corner of the changelog.

Attachment Outside Merlin's House in Traverse Town in the first Kingdom Hearts game, the likeness of an owl can be found on the broken archway in front of the house as well as in the form of several small statues surrounding the building. Outside Merlin's House in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden in subsequent games, this owl's presence is reduced to two emblems hanging over Merlin's front door both inside and outside the house. These owls are a reference to Merlin's pet owl Archimedes, a character from Disney's 1963 film adaptation of the T.H. White novel "The Sword in the Stone", who does not appear in the Kingdom Hearts series.

According to the game's character designer, Hiroyuki Nara, the model for Dante was repurposed data for Trish from Devil May Cry 2.

"The characters' speed in the backup data was completely different from how it was in the retail release. The final motions had also been programmed in separately by the software guys, so in order to replicate them, I had to place a television running the original game next to my work monitor and eyeball it. (laughs) So the Dante in "DMC 3" was actually made using Trish's data from "DMC 2". (laughs) We had all sorts of problems with that damn backup data from "DMC 1"... "

Attachment There was a scrapped level in the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and Wii versions of the game that would have taken place right outside and in front of the Hoover Dam for both Autobot and Decepticon campaigns. The Autobots Bumblebee and Optimus would have had to defend the humans escaping the compromised Dam. Then Optimus would have a battle with Megatron atop the Dam in an attempt to knock the Decepticon leader off, and all of this would culminate in a battle with Bonecrusher. Meanwhile in the Decepticon story, Blackout is tasked with destroying the Dam and then Bumblebee. Following that, Megatron awakens and the player plays as him as he decimates the landmark. These scrapped levels are somewhat playable in the Wii and PS3 releases via hacks but some of the mission chapters are incomplete and thus the levels themselves are unbeatable.

Menat's moveset has some divergences between the Japanese and English names. Both the Japanese and English names are filled with references to Egyptian mythology:

•Overflowing Nile in the Japanese version is ナイルの氾濫 Nairu no hanran (“Flooding of the Nile”). Nile floodings have exceptional importance for both ancient and modern Egyptians.

•Wisdom of Thoth was ジェフティの知恵 Jefuti no chie, “Wisdom of Thoth”. This discrepancy in spelling is due to the Japanese using one of the most common of Thoth’s transliterations, from his ancient Egyptian name ḏḥwty, also pronounced as Jehuti amongst other spellings.

•Left Eye of the Lion is 獅子の左目 Shishi no hidarime (“Lion Left Eye”, or “the Left Eye who is a Lion”). This alludes to Sekhmet, the lion goddess of war and destruction.

•Judgement of Anubis is 黒犬の審判 Kuroinu no shinpan ("Judgement of the black dog"). The Japanese name comes from the fact that he has a jackal’s (or black dog) head.

•Divine Retribution is a generic adaptation of the original 罪人を喰らう顎 Zainin wo kurau ago (“The jaws that eat the sinner"), an allusion to the goddess Ammit, the monster who devours the dead whose heart ends up being heavier than the feather of Ma'at.

•Khamun Kick is カーメンキック Kāmen Kikku, and derives from a common liberty the Japanese took with Ancient Egyptian language: coming from Tutankhamun's name, the most famous of all the pharaohs. His name in Ancient Egyptian is Twt ˁnḫ Jmn, "living" ˁnḫ, better known as ankh) "image" (twt) "of Amun" (Jmn). Amun's name was written first for respect towards the god, even if it was pronounced last. Given that Tut, Ankh and Amun are single words, "Khamun" doesn't make sense in context. Nevertheless, Japanese already popularised the use of カーメン kāmen as an ancient Egyptian reference, maybe prompted by the fact that the Japanese 仮面 kamen means "mask" and Tutankhamun's funerary mask is well known.

•Guardian of the Sun is in Japanese 太陽の守護者 Taiyō no shugosha, a direct translation. This references Khepri, the beetle Sun god. Khepri rolls the Sun across the sky, and he is visible on Menat's nape.

•The Nefertem is in Japanese ウン・ネフェル Un - Neferu. Nefertem is the lotus god of scent and good perfumes, as well as the son of Sekhmet. On the other hand, the Japanese name doesn't actually reference Nefertem, because the title wnn nfr, variously transliterated "Wenennefer", "Wenufer" or Unnefer, "The perfect one", "The happy one", is one of the epithets of Osiris.

While fighting Spamton and Spoiler:Spamton NEO, the player is able to press F1 to summon a miniature Spamton angel that heals the party, which can only be done once. On the PS4 and Switch versions, this function is normally mapped to clicking the right stick, but connecting a USB keyboard to the console allows the player to activate it with the F1 key anyways.
