Attachment The manual for Wario Blast uses a single image of Wario, taken from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, multiple times in different contexts and no other images of Wario, not even modifying the image to create different poses or facial expressions, while Bomberman has multiple different poses used.

According to designer Norio Okubo, Wario Blast was originally going to feature Mario instead of Wario - this was changed due to cultural sensitivity regarding bombs in certain regions, where it was decided that having a villain like Wario plant bombs would be seen as more appropriate than if a hero like Mario were to do so.

Attachment The section for passwords in the manual for Wario Blast shows an image of the game's title screen with a debug code (2264) that lets the player start the game with all power-ups as Wario. It is unknown if this was an oversight, or intentionally included.

Attachment In Japan, Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman! was released as "Bomberman GB" and didn't feature Wario in any capacity.

Its sequel, "Bomberman GB 2", was released in the west unaltered, however it was renamed simply "Bomberman GB".
