In the instruction manual, Daisy is referred to as "Daisy Princess" instead of "Princess Daisy." This is because of her Japanese name, Deiji-Hime, places the word for Daisy before the word for Princess.

The back of the package and the Nintendo eShop description for the game state that Koopa Troopas appear. However, the turtle-like enemies in the game are actually Bombshell Koopas, which were used instead of normal Koopa Troopas because the developers did not have the time to reproduce the Koopa Shell ricochet effect on the Game Boy hardware.

In both Super Mario Land games, 1-Up Mushrooms are replaced with hearts, most likely because, with the Game Boy's lack of color, it would be almost impossible to distinguish a 1-Up Mushroom from a Super Mushroom.
