The song Spanish Castle Magic by Jimi Hendrix is played as an instrumental in the game, but there are lyrics to the song. The version in the game was supposed to include the vocals, but they were removed because the Hendrix Estate did not wish to have Jimi Hendrix's voice impersonated.

In October of 2006, Detroit Tigers pitcher Joel Zumaya was benched during the American League Championship series with inflammation in his right arm. His injury was caused by excessively playing Guitar Hero.

The sound producers wanted to make the cover songs as authentic as they could. When they found out that Ozzy Osbourne used a metal fan to record the intro to "Iron Man," they found the same model fan on Craigslist to recreate the same vocal effect for their cover version used in the game.
