Attachment Seaman's face is actually that of the game's producer and creator, Yoot Saito. Saito also acts as Seaman's Japanese voice actor. During development, Sega had requested that a celebrity be used if possible to voice Seaman, but Saito was hesitant. He later said in a 2020 interview that the fact that he played the role himself was "the key to success", because it gave him the advantage of being able to rerecord lines as many times as he wanted, so it was no longer a question of money.

Andrew Rannells, the award-winning actor who played the lead character Elder Price in the play The Book of Mormon, was the voice director for the English dub of Sonic X. He played characters such as Bokkun, Decoe, Gamma, and Mr. Stewart. He also played the G.U.N. agents in the game Shadow The Hedgehog. Rannells actually worked on quite a few 4Kids shows during his time there, including Pokémon, Pokémon Chronicles, Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, F-Zero GP Legend, and voiced characters in 4Kids-acted games in the Yu-Gi-Oh and One Piece series.

For the Kirby: Right Back at Ya 3D Short on the 3DS, the original cast members were all brought back to reprise their roles. The only exceptions were Maddie Blaustein, who didn't return to voice Chef Kawasaki as she passed away in 2008. And Andrew Rannels, who didn't return as Nightmare due to him taking a busy career on Broadway.
