Attachment The Leather chain armor is a sprite from Indev (an older test version of Minecraft's Survival mode) 0.31's items.png armor. It never made it to the release versions.

Much of the game music's lyrics were written in "futuristic" versions of existing languages. For example the song "Kaine" was written in Gaelic, "The Wretched Automatons" in English and "Grandma" in French. Altogether the lyrics encompassed Scottish Gaelic, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, English and Japanese.

Depending on the selected difficulty level, the number of times that Snake will have to endure torture by electric shock is different, and Revolver Ocelot will have a different comment each time.

• Easy: 3 - "Had enough yet? We're not finished yet!"
• Normal: 4 - "You're still okay? Want me to go on? Can you take one more?"
• Hard: 5 - "Give up. Make it easy on yourself. One more time!"
• Extreme: 6 - "Come on! You don't want to die like this, do you? I can do this all day!"

This was changed in the Twin Snakes version to be 3 rounds, regardless of the difficulty setting.

Attachment In Leon's campaign, you rescue a rookie cop caught in a town filled with zombies on his first day at work. This is a throwback to how Leon was in a similar situation back in Raccoon City. The gas station in this scene, Stagla, is also a reference as one was located in Raccoon. A miniature of this station is also seen in the Special Features menu of the game.

Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil, didn't play RE5 until 2011, a whole two years after the game's release. This is because he didn't like the idea that someone else had made the game.

Everything that the Dahaka says is really just the voice actor reversed. What he is really saying is:
• All who have come before you have fallen.
• No one escapes the Dahaka.
• Your end is near.
• You will be removed.
• Disrupt the timeline no further.
• Come to me. Come to your death.
• You are quick, Mortal. Quick to die.
• You can not escape your fate.
• It ends for you the same as all who seek to change their fate.
• A good fight and this outcome was inevitable.
• It was a mistake for you to even try.
• You will never be rid of me.

In the Prepare to Die Edition, the player has an opportunity to save a young Sif from the Abyss. After doing so and summoning Sif for a boss fight deep in the Abyss, if the player has not yet defeated Sif in the present, the opening cutscene will change.

Sif appears to recognize the player, and is reluctant to do battle with them, but finds it necessary, likely due to Sif swearing to protect the grave or the Covenant of Artorias. This cutscene makes the hobbling animation when Sif is at low health even more heart-wrenching for some players.

The Bounding Demons in Lost Izalith are actually made from the same mesh as the lower half of the Undead Dragon minibosses. Neither of the two Undead Dragons ever stand, and the one in the Painted World Ariamis crawls forward and disconnects from its lifeless lower half. There is a glitch where attacking the lower half when you can reach it with a plunging attack will prompt the body to shoot up onto its legs like a Bounding Demon, thus eliminating the need to unlock several doors and pass through a fog gate.

If you look at the symbols on the bosses health bars, three of them have the normal Sigma symbol (Magma Dragoon, Cyber Peacock, and Split Mushroom), while the other five have the symbol of the Repliforce (Web Spider, Storm Owl, Frost Walrus, Jet Stingray, and Slash Beast). This means that most of the bosses you fight have not turned Maverick like the other games.

Attachment There are several animations of the players shooting and throwing things in several directions while facing the alternate direction. It appears that players may have been able to shoot and throw grenades behind them without turning around. Some of the animations can actually be seen in the game. This can be done by releasing your parachute and shooting left.

Attachment The Gerudo, a race first introduced in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, were largely inspired by the Arabic and Egyptian civilizations in the medieval Middle East. This can be alluded to by the Arabic and Egyptian themed locations and sculptures that the series has has to offer, in addition to the original design of the Crest of the Gerudo resembling an Islamic star and crescent. This symbol can be seen throughout the original release of Ocarina of Time on blocks, floor switches, and even the Mirror Shield. The similarities to the Islamic symbol caused controversy, and was changed to a new symbol in all re-releases of the game.

Each boss in the game has a specific piece of dialogue based on who you're fighting them as. Even though Yoshi can't actually fight Chief Chilly, there is still dialogue programmed in for that fight.

Attachment After you find Cloud in the hospital after he falls in the Lifestream, he will mumble incoherent things when you speak to him. One of the things he mumbles is "zeno... gias..." This is a translation error and a reference to the game Xenogears. In the PC port of Final Fantasy VII, the spelling is corrected to "Xeno... gears".

Cloud also says "A billion mirror fragments.... small.... light..." which is a reference to the vocal song of Xenogears, Small Two of Pieces. One of the lines to the song is "Broken mirror, a million shades of light".

The boss fight with Mz. Ruby is a rhythm based mini-game. In the HD Sly Collection, the music in the fight is remixed. Because of this, the music is no longer synchronized with her attacks. This make the boss fight much more difficult in comparison to the original version.

There are a couple of areas in the game where you can trap yourself in a test chamber with no way to get out. Once the developer figured out that the player could do this, they programed GLaDOS to open an escape route which earned an achievement called "Like A Rat."
