Attachment There is a special encounter in which you come across a stone ring called the "Guardian of Forever."

If you pass through it, you are instantly transported into Vault 13, where you can find good loot, as well as come across a Computer Terminal with a "functioning water chip." You cannot leave this area until you interact with the computer. Doing this will make you accidentally break the Water-Chip giving you 1000 exp and the message "You have broken the water chip... the vault has maybe 100-150 days left of water. This comforts you for some reason."

This is a reference to the Sci-fi series Star Trek, specifically referencing the episode The City on the Edge of Forever. In it, Kirk, Spock and Doctor McCoy are transported into pre-WWII America and cannot return home until history is fixed, with the stone ring acting as a portal into the past.

This also suggests that the player (The Chosen One) is directly responsible for the beginning of the first Fallout game, in which the player (The Vault Dweller) has to go out and look for a new Water Chip to replace the broken one, having only about 100-150 days to do so.

Two items which you have to retrieve for them are the "Staff of Tsol" and the "Medallion of Gni'kiv" which when read backwards say "Lost Viking". As of Cataclysm, you can find these characters in the Badlands.

In Chapter 7, when a hooded Mr. Saturn gives you back the Courage Badge, he says goodbye to the player and walks a few spaces offscreen where it is supposed to stop and disappear. However, due to a bug, he remains in that spot, just a few spaces away from the player. Itoi liked this bug, so he decided to keep it there and write some text for him.

If the player places 4th or 5th overall in a Grand Prix, they will be shown a cutscene where their character looks on at the winners, sadly drives off, and then gets blown-up by a Bob-Omb. The game then shows a message that says "What a Pity! You placed 4th/5th; Maybe next time!" Throughout the cutscene, the music changes from the standard fanfare to a more bleak version when the losing character drives off, and soon slows to a stop when the Bob-Omb appears.

If the player places in the top three, it's also possible to see the 4th place character in the distance for a brief moment, alluding to the hidden cutscene.

Fallout 2
1
Attachment There is a special encounter in which you can find a place called the "Café of Broken Dreams."

The café is actually a copy of "Maltese Falcon" in the Hub from Fallout 1, and the name is likely a reference to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", a short story written by Harlan Ellison where the main character sees dead people from the past.

Inside the cafe are five Vault character models, three of which talk about what past players did with them in Fallout 1, and two that are unplayable.

Set, Tandi and Dogmeat from Fallout 1 are in here as well. Dogmeat can be recruited if you show him your default Vault suit.

If you hurt Dogmeat, a character named "Mel" with an Australian accent in a leather jacket will appear and attack you. This is a direct reference to actress Mel Gibson who played Mad Max in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.

Sonic X-treme
1
The version of Sonic X-Treme we saw in advertisements was scrapped early in development. The slow and unsatisfactory progress in porting the PC engine code to the Sega Saturn caused arguments, and resulted in the executives intervening and bringing in a third party company, POV, to take over programming duties. From then on, three parties worked on the programming separately: one on the boss stages and two on the main game. On the original programmers' side, good progress was made. But POV had no such luck. Due to a poor presentation made by POV, the President of Sega Japan had already angrily left the building when the team of original main-game programmers arrived. In reaction to the poor presentation, the president demanded that the rest of the game be made like the boss engine, which caused further complications and ultimately the cancellation of the game.
