In June 2018, Bethesda Softworks filed a lawsuit against the game's developer and publisher; Behavior Interactive and Warner Bros. Entertainment, claiming that Westworld was a ripoff of its own game Fallout Shelter, released in 2015 and also developed by Behavior Interactive. Bethesda had claimed that copyrighted code had been reused and even a bug which was present in an early version of Fallout Shelter could also be found.

On December 12th, 2018, a notice had been filed in federal court that both sides had reached an "amicable" resolution and would bear their own attorney's fees and costs.

According to game's designer Richard Lemarchand, the Tibetan village in the game was inspired by the 2008 video game The Graveyard developed by Tale of Tales. The game's title affected him a lot more than he expected, with its simple experience of leading a slowly-moving elderly lady through a graveyard.

"I thought that in the same way that The Graveyard had created a space for me where I could reflect, so could our village."

Six months after the American release of Super Paper Mario, American film director, producer, and screenwriter Seth Gordon, whose most notably worked on the 2015 film "Pixels", expressed interest in adapting a movie based on Super Paper Mario. Gordon was quoted as saying: "I'd love, really love, to adapt Super Paper Mario into a movie, a movie that would constantly switch from 2D to 3D. In five years, 3D cinema is going to be really big." Gordon however specified that he never had the chance to speak with Nintendo about his envisioned project, so his idea was eventually forgotten.

The infamous Red LED lights that surround the 360's power button actually represent different problems depending on how many are alight. One red light meant a hardware failure. Two red lights signify overheating. Three red lights meant a general hardware failure, and four red lights meant and AV cable error. The notorious "Red Ring of Death" is actually, contrary to it's name, a 3-Light problem (General Hardware Failure).

2
There are two known concepts for unreleased Tingle games.

Nintendo veteran and Tingle series producer Kensuke Tanabe has claimed that in 2010, a horror game starring Tingle was in development at Vanpool, but was scrapped for "a variety of reasons". This would lead to the development of Dillon's Rolling Western.

Tanabe has stated in a 2018 interview that he had an idea for a game about Tingle turning into a "super-powered being" that he had not yet had the chance to pitch. It is not known if this game was ever seriously pitched to Nintendo or entered development after the interview, however the shuttering of Tingle series developers Vanpool means that it is highly unlikely it'll see the light of day.
