Pokémon Ruby Version
subdirectory_arrow_right Pokémon Sapphire Version (Game)
1
Attachment The gems on Sableye's body may be a reference to Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, as the common colors for rubies and sapphires are red and blue. Sableye's shiny sprite also has green and yellow gems. Green is the common color of emeralds, making this possible reference also line up with Pokemon Emerald.
Epic Mickey
1
Attachment In an early version, Gus was to be caged like all the other Gremlins in the game as opposed to being free by default. This may explain why Gus never introduces himself to Mickey, as the scene where he would have done so was cut and never replaced.
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!
1
The song "Wintery Mist" from Silent Hill: Homecoming sounds almost identical to "Winter Tundra", only slowed down.
Silent Hill: Homecoming

The song, "Wintery Mist", sounds almost identical to "Winter Tundra" from Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Attachment In the Swamp of Evil, where the Misery Mire dungeon is located, there are three enemies that do not load properly, rendering them invisible. Despite this, they can still attack and take damage, though will remain unseen by the player.

These invisible enemies are Ku, some of which can be seen in the Swamp of Evil. The ones that do load properly are positioned in the deep water of the swamp, while the invisible ones are located in shallow water. It's likely the enemies were only programmed to function in deep water, and thus either the terrain was different during development, or the enemies were simply misplaced.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies
1
During Case 4, A Cosmic Turnabout, during Yuri Cosmos' breakdown (while his segway is malfunctioning), several of the stars that appear on screen resemble the Starman power-up item from the Mario series.
Ecco the Dolphin

Attachment Most of the artwork in the prehistoric era looks very similar, if not identical, to scientific artwork by Zdeněk Burian.
Grand Theft Auto V
1
In an interview with Playboy Magazine, Sam Houser admitted that he got his mother, veteran actress Geraldine Moffat, to do some voice and mo-cap work for Grand Theft Auto V. While she is uncredited in the game, it is widely believed by many that she played Trevor Phillips' mother. They look similar, her actress is not credited, and she has an uncharacteristically English accent for a woman who is supposed to be Canadian.
DuckTales: Remastered
1
Attachment Within the game's files are a number of unused images referring to Shantae, another character created by WayForward. It's possible that Shantae would have appeared as a playable character at one point during development, but was later cut. This is speculation, but it is evident that Shantae was at least used as a placeholder during development.
Final Fantasy VI
1
It was originally intended for Gogo to be found in any of the bars in the World of Ruin disguised as one of the player characters not in the player's active party. Gogo would randomly cycle between the towns based on a timer and if the player managed to speak to him/her with the real character s/he was disguised as, Gogo would reveal him/herself and join the party.

The developers felt the quest was too difficult and changed this for the final version of the game. This could possibly suggest that the Siegfried/Ziegfried imposter was meant to be Gogo during development.
League of Legends
1
Attachment Nunu's "grungy" skin bears a strong resemblance to two Sesame Street characters: Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster.
Team Fortress 2

The robots voices in Mann vs Machine are simply the standard, human class dialogue passed through a robotic filter.

Among these voice files are unused Demoman and Soldier lines, generally stating "DOMINATED!", followed by expressions of concern or friendship.

It's likely that the original, human versions of these lines were created for the WAR! Update, in which the BLU Soldier and RED Demoman were discovered to have a secret friendship, and the administrator pitted them against each other. The unused voice clips imply that the Soldier and Demoman were putting on an act for their bosses, pretending to no longer be friends. It's unknown why Valve chose not to include these lines.
Mario Is Missing!
1
While the Koopalings guard each floor of Bowser's castle, two of them, Lemmy and Morton, don't appear in the game. However, a couple voice clips featuring each of them can be found in the PC CD-ROM release's files, suggesting that they may have been considered, either for the original release, or as additional content in the expanded CD-ROM version.
Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
1
Unused graphics found in the game's data show Ray wearing a wedding dress. It's possible that he may have originally been a woman and an eligible bachelorette. His appearance could pass for either a male or female, further supporting this theory.
The Wonderful 101
1
Attachment The secret character Poseman is a reference to Viewtiful Joe. Not only does he resemble Joe physically, he does some of his poses, has a move called "Heroic Forever" which is similar to Joe's "Viewtiful Forever", and his title is "Go for it!", which refers to the introduction of each scored segment in the Viewtiful Joe games.
Franchise: Space Channel 5
1
During the 'Pudding's Secret Plans' drama track on the CD 'Space Channel 5 Part 2 Soundtrack Vol. Chu!!', Pudding says to her bodyguards, "Doesn't it look like I'm playing?". This may indicate that Pudding isn't actually playing her instrument during her guitar duel with Ulala in Space Channel 5: Part 2, and casts doubt on her ability to play at all.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
1
Attachment Wolf has an unused attack animation which looks similar to that of Fox's rapid kick.
Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp
1
Attachment Storyboards were produced for a pirate ship sequence, and Dirk would have faced an octopus and the Pirate King. While this sequence did not make it into the game, there is a pirate flag in the pile of objects that Dirk pours out of his bag at the end of the page, suggesting that the pirate ship sequence was cut after the ending was produced.
Super Mario Galaxy
1
Attachment An unused Luma called "Ticojii" is present in the game's data. Ticojii vaguely resembles Eldstar from Paper Mario, and the Millennium Star from Mario Party 3.
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road
1
Attachment During the opening battle conversation between Bardock and Gohan, Bardock will say "Hm? You look familiar... Are you Turles' son?" Turles was a Saiyan, and the main antagonist of the 3rd Dragon Ball Z film, The Tree of Might.

Though there's no mention in the anime or any official reference material of Turles having a son, if he did, that son might look just like Gohan, due to his own appearance being identical to Gohan's father, Goku.
