The alternate name of the Patriots, the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo, was chosen because the English 'L' sound does not exist in the Japanese phonetic alphabet, making it impossible to say. Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee

Munch's Oddysee was originally going to be released for the PlayStation 2, with different level layouts, enemies, cutscenes, and areas, but was scrapped and put on the Xbox.

The idea to move the game to Xbox was based on the development team not only wanting to use a more powerful console, which would allow them to flesh out the world better, but also thinking it would be a better long term plan to publish the games on the console. Microsoft even worked with Oddworld Inhabitants to help make the Xbox better for them to work on it.

According to Bob Gale, co-creator of the Back to the Future series, the game's publisher "LJN" didn't want any input from the film's creators, however promised to show it to them when it was ready. Gale disagreed with what was shown to him and wanted it changed but was told that it was too late. Gale later told fans to not purchase it because of how bad it was.

Attachment At one point in development, ZUN intended to add a third playable character, Rin Satsuki; however, she was dropped from the final game due to time constraints. The sole remnants of her are two strings of text in the game's code, which reveal that she would've wielded Flower Sign (Type A) and Flower Sign (Type B) Spell Cards.

For years, fans speculated that Satsuki's official design was a circle cut illustration showcased at Comiket 62 in 2002. However, in 2014, doujin artist Rian Sakuragi revealed on Twitter that the artwork was simply a standard "poster girl" with no relation to Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Nine years later, ZUN revealed in a talk at Tokai High School that he did indeed draft a design for Satsuki, though it was never publicly shown off.

Attachment The Head Quarantine Officer instructing Samus through her training sequence during the beginning is voice acted in English by Nate Bihldorf. Nate localized Metroid Zero Mission and contributed on Metroid Prime 2 & 3. In an interview by ShineSparkers, Nate explains his experience, "I thought I sounded like a nerd - but that's what Mr. Sakamoto was looking for, so I guess I'd call it a resounding success." The Quarantine Officer has an uncanny visual resemblance to Dan Owsen who narrated the opening of Super Metroid: "The last Metroid is in captivity. The Galaxy is at Peace...".

Attachment There is an unused scan image of what looks like a Shinesparking Samus. In an interview with Retro Studios, it was revealed that they were considering implementing the Speed Booster and Shinespark, but due to the difficulties implementing it, it was scrapped.

In the game's data, replacing a file called "0000_PLAYER" with another file spawns a clone of the player that follows his movements. It takes on the appearance of Mario, but will shift into a different character when hit (spawning with a Mario cap).

This game was supposed to use mugshots during dialogue scenes, as did Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but they went unused. The final game uses full portraits instead, just like the original Japan-only Coded mobile game did.

A painting of Chernabog (the demon from Night of Bald Mountain from the movie Fantasia), Madam Leona (the head in the Crystal Ball), and The Lonesome Ghosts (from Mickey Mouse Cartoons).
