There is speculation that it was used by Bungie to test the physics engine of the game, and that they left it in the level instead of deleting it. It also appears as a Forge item available to place on certain maps in Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4.

In the "Snake vs. Monkey" mode, you play as Solid Snake (unlike the rest of the game) and during the radio call in the beginning, Snake suggests that Sam or Gabe could take the mission. This is a reference to Sam Fisher and Gabe Logan of Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter, respectively. Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter were Metal Gear's two biggest competitors during its release.

Resident Evil Gaiden was originally supposed to be canon and coincide with Resident Evil Code: Veronica but this plot point was later dropped in future titles. Gaiden was referenced in Wesker's Report, specifically mentioning Leon joining an anti-Umbrella organization. However, the end of Gaiden implies that the "Leon" you see is actually a Bio Organic Weapon impersonating Leon. Resident Evil 4 makes it clear that this is not the case though, and the game has since been stricken from the official series timeline, rendering Gaiden a fully non-canon entry in the series.

The name San Andreas itself is a reference to the San Andreas Fault, a continental fault line that runs through California.

In addition to the loading screen that references "Your Health is Low," there is a potion shop in Fable 2 that is named "Your Health Is Low." To add to this, sometimes when you encounter a Gargoyle, they will say "Hero! Do you have any potions or food?" which is a sentence said by the guildmaster after saying "Your Health Is Low." Many of Fable's "Your Health Is Low" references are based on the over-all disdain towards being told this every time your health reaches a certain point in the original Fable.

Attachment The saving icon in the game changes on certain days to remember several fallen pioneers in heavy metal music.
On February 19th the saving symbol changes to a lighting bolt. A reference to former AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott who died on said date.
The same also applies to Randy Rhoads (former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne) and "Dimebag" Darrel (guitarist for both Pantera and Damageplan) where on March 19th and December 8th, both dates on which the respective musician died, the saving symbol changes to a "PR" and a dime respectively.
