There was a little known port of the game created with a new engine and mouse aiming support for PC. The port was only released in China and most likely due to this version being riddled with bugs and glitches all plans to release it elsewhere were cancelled.

In the commentary for Left 4 Dead 2, the developers stated that Nick's character was originally an escaped prisoner who stole a nice suit, but he was eventually adapted into his current con man persona. Nick is the only playable Survivor who retained his appearance from either beta screenshots or trailers out of all of the playable Survivors.

Attachment While Kain cannot cast any magic in Final Fantasy IV, the data in the SNES version contains a two-frame animated sprite for Kain casting spells, as all other spellcasters have. The Final Fantasy IV Settei Shiryou Shuu shows a screenshot of Kain with a White Magic command, and there is an unused empty magic spell list that, based on the internal character order, was intended for him.

Dr. Robotnik was created to be the opposite of Sonic, and to be the bad guy. During the development of the game, there was a growing debate between developers and environmentalists, and Robotnik was created to represent machinery and development, as apposed to Sonic, who represented the environment.

His egg shaped redesign came from Naoto Ōshima wanting to give the characters designs that were easy enough for kids to draw.

Rosalina's Storybook was written by Yoshiaki Koizumi, who wrote it at night without anybody knowing what he was doing. The following day he presented the story to Shigeru Miyamoto, who was surprised when Yoshiaki told him that nobody else knew about it.

Along with "The Orange Box", a collection of five Valve games utilizing the Source engine, Valve was originally going to release "The Black Box", which would only contain the three previously unreleased games: Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. The Orange Box also includes Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One, each of which had already been released individually.

Production of physical copies of The Black Box was cancelled, but the collection is still available for download through Steam, using a coupon found in an ATI bundle that included an ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT and a coupon for the Black Box.

Attachment The enemy Blargg from Super Mario World is found in the game's code, but it's model and programming are unfinished. It has an animation for jumping out of lava, but doesn't do anything else.
Final Fantasy VIII

The characters of Fujin and Raijin were initially designed to appear in Final Fantasy VII, however, the inclusion of the Turks made their presence unnecessary and they were shelved until Final Fantasy VIII. They were also most likely inspired by shonen-manga of the past, which ended up fitting much better into Final Fantasy VIII's cast.
