For further clarification, the game runs a check to determine if either criteria has been met. If players collect 40 Fire Flyers, then turn around and collect the last 60, the blue screen will occur.

One early concept for the game revolved around the player constantly growing the tornado. If the player stopped controlling the tornado, it would simply shrink and dissipate.

The first cutscene revolves around a news reporter by the name of Chuck Gavel reporting the strange animal behavior caused by the Fire Flyers possessing them. The second cutscene introduces a removed character named Wind Boy.

Despite having an idle animation in-game, Nimbus' talking animation is used for both an idle animation and a talking animation. His actual idle animation is partially unused since its only used properly in the final level, Showdown With Omegaton.
