During the game's opening cutscene, a doodle of Sonic the Hedgehog can be seen on a bulletin board only found in the Sega CD Version of the game.

There were plans to convert the game into a Sonic the Hedgehog game named "Sister Sonic" by reskinning the characters and changing the story to focus on Sonic's long lost sister. The idea was scrapped due to negative feedback from fans of the original game.
