The criminal organization in the game is called OCTOPUS as opposed to SPECTRE in the James Bond film series which the game is based on. It's possible this was due to the legal battle at the time between film production company EON and Kevin McClory, who the latter then owned the rights to SPECTRE and Blofeld.
