A promotional e-mail from Conker the Squirrel in 2004 to promote the release of Conker: Live & Reloaded has him talking about his career. When talking about his first appearance in 1997’s Diddy Kong Racing, he states:


On May 18, 2012, a Q&A on the Rare Mini-Scribes answered a question about what their beloved characters do when their not in a new game, to which they responded "Where do the characters go between games? Well, they’re all off having crazy adventures too expensive and asset-heavy to adapt into game form … Except for Bumper the badger, who’s in jail."

On October 6, 2021, Rare's official Twitter account provided another update in response to this piece of trivia being headlined on the Super Mario Wiki, stating that Bumper is currently on parole and is "superficially sorry for all those bad things he did."

The game was originally called Conker: Live and Uncut. However, during development the game received heavy censorship. Even minor obscenities which were present in the original N64 version were censored.

The developers wanted to replace Burt the metal crate, who guards the cheese pen, with a gate named Bill who would complain about how all the windows on his barn were broken and wouldn't work and how the barn kept crashing, but the game's publisher, Microsoft, wouldn't let them.

During development, inside of the machine that fire imps use to operate The Big Big Guy, there is a "Start Button" with the Microsoft logo, similar to that found in Microsoft's operating system, Microsoft Windows. It is unknown why this was removed from the final release.

A new entry in the Conker series called Conker: Gettin' Medieval was at one point planned but never made. The game would've heavily focused on multi-player to the point where it'd be completely online. The game would've been set in Medieval times, with Death serving as the main character and Conker shifting into a guest role. The game's world would've been populated by characters from the Future War scenario in Live & Reloaded, only with their designs altered to become medieval counter-parts.
