EarthBound

Attachment EarthBound features five types of anti-piracy:

• First, it will simply check to make sure the cartridge isn't being used in a PAL console.
• Second, it will perform two SRAM checks at startup.
• Third, if the first two measures are disabled, the enemies on screen will be ramped up to ridiculous levels and you will find enemies in areas they don't belong in.
• Fourth, there's another SRAM checker that is called up six times during the game. Its purpose is unknown as of yet.
• Fifth and finally, if the game detects problems after Pokey turns off the Devil's Machine, the game will erase all of your save data and freeze, forcing you to go back to reset and find all of your work gone.

There is a show called "Area 53" on WCTR. One of the callers who goes by the name of 'Kevin' says that he can launch all the nuclear missiles in the world by just whistling into a phone. This is a reference to phone phreaker Kevin Mitnick, who was tried for computer hacking in the late 1990s. During the trial, the prosecutor claimed that Kevin was so dangerous that if given his one phone call in jail he could launch all the nuclear weapons in the United States. He was also sentenced to 18 months in prison, the same amount of time as the caller on the show.

Franchise: Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing creator Katsuya Eguchi has spoken about how his inspiration for the series came from a lonely point in his life when he moved over 300 miles from his home, Chiba, to work at Nintendo's Kyoto HQ. In an Edge Magazine Interview, Eguchi spoke of using this emotion to influence the original Animal Crossing.

"Animal Crossing features three themes: family, friendship and community. But the reason I wanted to investigate them was a result of being so lonely when I arrived in Kyoto! Chiba is east of Tokyo and quite a distance from Kyoto, and when I moved there I left my family and friends behind. In doing so, I realized that being close to them "being able to spend time with them, talk to them, play with them" was such a great, important thing. I wondered for a long time if there would be a way to recreate that feeling, and that was the impetus behind the original Animal Crossing."

A zombie dinosaur robot pushing a machine-gun-toting carriage with a large slime monster inside.

There are 2 unused abilities. No Ability and Cacophony.
No Ability is presumed to be an error handler, and is used when the game manages to find a Pokémon with an ability of ID set to 00. The term isn't used in the final game because all Pokémon were given abilities.
Cacophony is an ability similar to Soundproof, which isn't assigned any Pokémon in the game. It's assumed it was meant to be the ability for Whismur, Loudred, and Exploud, given their nature for noise-based attacks.
