At the level select menu, the time it takes for the planets to revolve around the Sun is exactly accurate to real life, although sped up. It takes the Earth 1 minute to orbit the Sun, which represents a year, and within that time the Moon revolves exactly 13 times around the Earth. With Mercury, it takes approximately 14 seconds to revolve around the Sun, which is equal to 88 days, with Venus 37 seconds which equals to 225 days, Mars 1 minute and 53 seconds, which equals to 687 days, and Neptune 2 hours and 45 minutes, which equals to 165 years. Apparent retrograde motion also occurs when viewing the planets from a certain vantage point.

In Japan, McDonald's once sold demo discs of PaRappa the Rapper 2 and Ape Escape 2001 to promote the games in Japan. The PaRappa demo reskinned the Toasty Buns stage to take place in a McDonald's, while the Ape Escape demo included the first 2 and a half stages, added McDonald's buildings and blimps to the level backgrounds, and added McDonald's food as collectible items - it also included a bonus video of Japanese celebrity Papaya Suzuki exploring New York with a man in a Pipo Monkey mascot costume.

Although Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi (Fire Emblem: Binding Blade) is where Roy held a starring role, the game came out March 29th 2002, while Melee was released November 21st, 2001 in Japan. Roy was put into Melee to promote Fūin no Tsurugi's release in Japan, and was originally intended to be an exclusive character to the Japanese region.

There is a continuity error between the second episode of the video game "Blood of the Cybermen" and the television episode "The Pandorica Opens". On both occasions, Amy Pond doesn't recognise the Cybermen, even though the latter is set chronologically after, albeit the video game was published later. Amy also encountered them in the two video games "Doctor Who: Return to Earth" and "Doctor Who: The Mazes of Time", both also released after "The Pandorica Opens" but set prior. It's assumed by fans that this could be due to the cracks in time altering Amy's memories.

Attachment Two items which were available in the Japanese version but were made unavailable in the Western release were the Beauty Book and Cannon which were to be given to Servbot #38. This was because they were both related to the PocketStation peripheral which wasn't released outside of Japan. Both items can be unlocked in the western version using a cheat device, however Servebot #38's dialogue will remain the same unlike in the Japanese version.

Attachment In a released concept art in Kirby's Dream Collection, an unknown knight was shown with red butterfly-like wings. Since this artwork was in Meta Knight’s section, many presumed it to be Meta Knight's beta design. However, in a Nintendo Dream magazine interview with Shinya Kumazaki, he confirmed that the design was originally for an entirely different knight that would have appeared in the cancelled Kirby GameCube game. This design would later be used for Morpho Knight in Kirby Star Allies, ​​​​except with a different sword.

According to the Developers of Metropolis Street Racer, to record the audio for the cars, they rented a Mercedes SLK. They tested the car on a test track with microphones attached to the car, recording the sound of each gear until, unexpectedly, the engine blew.

They had to tow the car to a country lane where they could call the AA. They fixed the engine and returned the car but unfortunately, the hire company saw the SLK's engine management report and billed Sega thousands for a replacement engine.
