At the beginning of the game's ROM is a message directed towards hackers and demo coders. The message reads:
"Tiburon Entertainment, Inc. developed this product for Electronic Arts.
Tiburon is a small developer located in Longwood Florida, a suburb of Orlando.
We develop entertainment software for console systems, and IBM Compatibles.
If you're a talented programmer or Artist please fax us your resume at 407-862-4077.
Although formal education is a plus, it's not required. This message is directed
to all you hackers and demo coders out there who might be looking through our ROMs.
We have good benefits, and pay competitive wages.

Attachment Chun-Li, from the Street Fighter series, makes a cameo appearance in the game. In Bleak, speak to the magician who says that he can make 100g disappear. Answer "yes" twice, "no" twice, and then yes. You'll see Chun-Li in a small room performing her famous Lightning Kick.

A pink palette-swapped sprite of Chun-Li can also appear in this area if you answer "no" 24 times, and then on the 25th time answer "yes". This pink Chun-Li can also make a cameo appearance in the Good Ending under the condition that Ryu is equipped with the Broken Sword when the Goddess Tyr is defeated. However, this variant of the Easter egg cannot be triggered in the Game Boy Advance version.

Attachment In Ebon Keep, Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV will appear as a store owner. Ebon Keep's theme on the official soundtrack is also called "Cecil's Town." He will even make reference to his adventures on the moon, becoming a paladin, and fighting Zeromus, hoping that the player will have heard of him.

Attachment It is widely considered that the lead hero is a reference to Marty McFly from the Back to the Future series. Both characters travel through time, use the term "heavy" and wear an orange life preserver. There's a few unused messages hidden in the ROM that differ from the US and EU version. In the US, there are 3 messages of "Hello there!" whereas in the EU version they read:
"Wow Salem, so this is what the inside of a hex editor looks like..."
"Hello there!"
"Hey look! Someone ripped our game!!!"

There is also a large chunk of uncompiled code, and for some reason the file path to the developer's ZoneAlarm settings: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\ZONE LABS\ZONEALARM\ZONEALARM.E"
