1
In the 2023 film "The Super Mario Bros. Movie", the Japanese name for the character Spike (the foreman from Wrecking Crew) was changed in the corresponding dub. Although no specific reason was given as to why the change was made, it can be assumed it was done to avoid controversy as the character's original Japanese name is "Blackie", which is also a derogatory racial slur in English-speaking countries used to refer to dark-skinned people of African descent.

Attachment Moguchan, an enemy from Stage 3, originally had his mouth opened and his color palette was brown and red. The International version lost his mouth and had his color scheme changed to green and purple. This was probably done because the original design could be interpreted as a negative racial stereotype of African-Americans.
Payday 2
1
During the Development of PAYDAY 2, several ##Sony## play testers believed that the name, Chains, may be considered as racism since the character is African-American and the name "Chains" is related to the history of slavery. Several name changes were pitched like "Chanes" and "Chaynes" At the end, ##Overkill Software## decided to keep it in since the reason was being over interpreted.
Franchise: Pikmin
1
In every game starting with the Wii releases of Pikmin and Pikmin 2, the enemies Yellow Wollywogs and Wogpoles had their names changed to Yellow Wollyhops and Wolpoles when the games were localized in Europe. This is believed to have been done because "Wog" is derogatory British slang for a dark-skinned person.

Despite looking black-faced, Jynx wasn't meant to be racist. It is actually based off the Japanese Myth, Yama-Uba. Yama-Uba was described as having bright blond hair and a torn red kimono much similar to the design of Jynx.
