The Sega Saturn version of the game contains hidden files that can only be accessed when loading the game disc on a PC. 15 pieces of character artwork and a text document containing messages from 13 of the Saturn version's developers including graphic artists, members of the sound team, and programmers can be found. The messages contain insights about their duties, goals and struggles in porting the game from the PlayStation to the inferior Saturn, with several members of the staff having just entered the video game industry and joined Konami prior to work starting on the port. Collectively, they had mixed to positive feelings about the final result, with most being happy with their work, while others feeling they had failed to live up to the PlayStation version. Regardless, much of the staff thanked players for playing the game and encouraged them to mail feedback to them at Konami.

Two notable details from these messages include:

•A story/rant shared by programmer Hideto Imai in the last and longest message about his experience in violating Japan's Motor Vehicle Storage Act by parking his car curbside while staying at his in-laws during development.

•A scrapped character idea shared by graphic designer Yoshinori Suzuki:

"There's actually another version of Maria with a full set of graphics different from the one the player meets in the actual game. It ended up going unused. It might've been neat if she had been used, though. Because she was a dark version of Maria, the opposite to the light version of Maria, her attacks and such would have been entirely different. Go ahead and imagine for yourselves what she might have been like. (Perhaps, if she'd appeared in the game, she'd have been called Black Maria?)"

The Xbox 360 version was created exclusively for use with HDTV. Players using the game on a standard TV expressed concern with the dark image of it. As a result, Ubisoft recommended players play the version created for the original Xbox until a patch was released.

In the Japanese version of Trauma Center: Under the Knife and its remake Trauma Center: Second Opinion, the patient Linda Reid is 14 years old. For the North American localization of the game, she was aged up to 17. However, the localization team forgot to account for this detail when localizing Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2, which takes place three years after the first game, as Reid is also 17 in the North American localization of the game when she should actually be 20.

Radiant Historia
1
In an interview with the game's original designer for world/story Satoshi Takayashiki published in the 2011 game's Japanese World Guidance book, he was asked when the planning for the game began? He responded:

"In 2005, myself, Konishi-san, and another programmer began talking about wanting to make some kind of game together. That was the beginning of our basic idea, to do a fantasy RPG, which would be connected to some extent with Radiata Stories. From there we started making a prototype test version. We didn’t work on it intensely or anything, it was something we all did in our spare time, while handling our other work. The battle system and the overworld were both created there in that first prototype. We also wrote an overarching planning document, and decided on the world of Radiant Historia, as well as part of the story. We presented all that to Hirata-san in the fall of 2007."
Tornado Outbreak

The Xbox 360 port of the game is the only version that natively supports 60 FPS. The framerate on actual Xbox 360 hardware is capped to 30 but can drop down to 9 FPS, because of the render distance and additional lighting. When emulated, the game maintains a steady 30/60 FPS depending on what's going on. Cutscenes, subtitles and loading screens move too quickly, and there is major slowdown when the game is running in 60 FPS. This is noticeable in the sixth level Ringling Village and the final level Showdown With Omegaton.

Attachment The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports of the game feature a group of wandering Elvis impersonators in the map High Roller Blowout.
Ape Escape

Later revisions of the NTSC version of the game had a specific monkey's name and description changed, possibly out of fear of copyright infringement. An ape named Freeto with the description, "Needs clean underwear" is changed to Quiff, with the description, "Bad fur day."

The Japanese version of WarioWare: Twisted! features an exclusive start-up screen for the console where the Game Boy logo bounces up off-screen before landing again. Once the logo resumes as normal, a motorcycle heard in the background will stop, causing Wario to shout "Yeah!"
Freddi Fish and The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds

Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside and Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds were released on the Wii as Pajama Sam: Don’t Fear the Dark and Freddi Fish: Kelp Seed Mystery respectively, alongside Spy Fox: Dry Cereal, which kept its name. However, these ports ran off of the ScummVM emulator engine and did not use proper attribution, leading to all unsold copies of the games being removed from sale and destroyed, and mandatory donations being made to the Free Software Foundation.
World Heroes 2 Jet

In the Japanese version of World Heroes 2 Jet, Zeus will bleed during the cutscene that plays after his defeat. In the international release however, the blood has been removed.

In the European release of the NES version, pressing Right on the logo screen for the game's publisher Storm will trigger a secret set of credits menus. This screen can also be accessed during any cutscene by pressing Right after the message at the current cutscene is displayed and the program is paused before the next cutscene screen and waiting for the input to skip it. This occurs because the input waiting routine is the same for the logo and for the cutscene waiting screens. The Japanese version of the game has no starting logo and the cutscene input logic is changed, but the credits are still in the game and can be accessed through hacking.
Little Nemo: The Dream Master

The attack pattern of the Manta Ray boss in Dream 8: Nightmare Land differs slightly in the North American and European releases of the game.

Attachment The Japanese title screen is based on the logo used for the original Japanese release of the 1989 film "Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland", which the game is based on. The international logo is completely original and puts more emphasis on the game's subtitle. Although Nemo himself was removed from the title screen, the graphic can still be found in the data of the North American and European versions. Additionally, some larger stars were added to the background and the corner decorations at the bottom of the screen were removed to fit extra copyright information.

Attachment In the North American and European releases of the game, the cigars being smoked by Flip and the Gorilla are removed. Despite this, the game's manual in these regions features artwork of the Gorilla smoking a cigar, and the Gorilla's sprite still has curled lips as if it were holding a cigar in its mouth.

Anita from the Darkstalkers series is a playable character exclusive to the Japanese version of the game. She was originally used only for testing purposes, but was soon added in the home console ports of the game. With the use of hacking tools, she can be playable in the U.S. version, although she lacks a name tag, quote, character portrait and ending, who instead borrows everything from Thanos.

In addition, Anita's moveset is glitchy and features other cameos such as Akuma from Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Mei Ling and Donovan from the Darkstalkers series. Most of her moves are direct knockoffs of Donovan's moves.

According to Capcom Japan translator Tom Shirawa, the reason why Nash's name was changed to Charlie for the international release is because the people at Capcom U.S.A did not like it. Nash wasn't an English name and he's supposed to be a U.S. soldier, so they felt that players could not connect with the character and suggested the name Charlie instead.

Capcom eventually decided to merge the two names into 'Charlie Nash' for Street Fighter IV.

According to Capcom USA's Product Manager Scott Smith, the reason why Gouki's name was changed to Akuma for the international release of Super Street Fighter II Turbo is because Capcom USA felt there were too many characters whose name had the letter G. Scott Smith, who was tasked with coming up with a new name, chose the name 'Akuma' based on a news story from Japan where people were trying to name their child after the devil but the government wouldn't let them. Mr. Smith looked up devil in Japanese and found the name Akuma.
Cuphead

Version 1.2 of the game added secret alternate phases to three boss fights, two of which being ideas that were originally scrapped before the game's release:
•Botanic Panic!: Spoiler:By not attacking Ollie Bulb the onion, he will retreat back into the ground and skip to Chauncey Chantenay the carrot's phase featuring an additional mini-boss, a spinning radish named Horace Radiche who despite being completed before the game was released, originally went unused.
•Pyramid Peril: Spoiler:If the player shrinks into the mini-plane form just before the fourth phase of the fight, Djimmi the Great will scan the player and pull up a marionette featuring a dinosaur, a miniature version of Dr. Kahl's Robot and a stone statue, before tugging a longer string and pulling up a smaller version of Cuppet. This skips the fourth phase and goes directly into a harder version of the final phase where the smaller Cuppet will act as a turret firing at the player counter-clockwise to the spinning Eye of Providence pyramids.
•Dramatic Fanfare: Spoiler:By parrying off of the pink star projectiles, the player can land onto two hanging cherub props that control the chandelier in the background of the first phase. Standing on one will gradually lower it until a dinging sound is heard and the chandelier becomes slanted. Doing the same to the other cherub will cause the first phase to abruptly end and trigger an alternate storyline to the fight that was originally unfinished by the time the game was released. After both cherubs are lowered, Sally Stageplay's newlywed husband is crushed by the chandelier. Instead of changing the scenery to Sally's home, the second phase of the fight takes place at St. Timothy's Nunnery, implying that Sally became a nun. In place of Sally's husband worrying in the bushes for her is the Priest that oversaw their marriage, and a Nun takes the place of Sally's children to throw rulers at the player. In the third phase, a god form of Sally's husband accompanies Sally's goddess form and attacks by summoning a cherub, portrayed by Sally's son from the normal second phase of the fight, to push a spinning cardboard fireball towards the player. The fourth phase of the fight is unchanged from the normal path, but with the Nun appearing in the background in place of Sally's husband and children when on Expert mode.

One boss fight in "The Delicious Last Course" DLC also features a secret phase:

•Doggone Dogfight: Spoiler:During the second phase with the circling jetpack puppies, their jetpacks will produce white exhaust fumes when they have plenty of health, with the more damage taken turning it into gray exhaust to indicate that they have low health. If all four jetpacks are spewing gray exhaust at the same time with none of them having been defeated, the Dog Chinook will appear and eat them before grabbing the plane as if it were the normal third phase. However, the puppies and the Chinook pilot will appear in portholes on its paw pads instead of the laser satellites, where they throw regular and pink Pineapple Mint grenades that explode into shrapnel when they are hit. The Chinook pilot also appears and calls for the vessel to shoot homing fire hydrant missiles.
