At the end of a cutscene in chapter 2, the general will whistle part of Frog's theme from the 1995 Square Enix game Chrono Trigger. This can be heard again just before entering the General's office.

A large, dead lizard can be found behind one of the waterfalls in Chapter 3. This is a Burrick, an enemy from the original Thief: The Dark Project.
