If Spoiler:Shiek being an alter ego of Zelda really was a spoiler moment, then I don't see what the point of the way Zelda is in the Smash Bros. series Spoiler:by being two fighters in one. Then again maybe this isn't even alone in terms of spoilers made use of in Smash Bros. games, which don't really matter that much anyway since they're not so much spoilers in later media they get made use of in.

It's still a spoiler in the original game it happened in. Also Ocarina of Time came out three years before they were playable characters in that series, even at the time of the first Smash Bros. game it still would have been a spoiler.
