The game's opening scene reuses the scene from the film Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back with Captain Xamuel Lennox and Lieutenant Cabbel where their Imperial Star Destroyer is shot down by the ion canon over the planet Hoth.The 2014 book Star Wars: Imperial Handbook: A Commander's Guide reconciles these two scenes by stating that Captain Xamuel Lennox is the same person in both scenes, set years apart in the Star Wars timeline, except for Lieutenant Cabbel.
