All of the religious symbolism in the game was either replaced (such as the cross boss and the grave at the end of the game) or removed (such as the alter in the church). Strangely, even though the alter was removed and the church was turned into a long hallway, the church music still plays, and the candles from the alter are now floating.

In the TurboGrafx-16 version of the game, the Terror Mask is red instead of White. This change was because the mask looked like a hockey mask and it made Rick look like Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th.
