Spider-Man 2 was recalled to rework anything related to the World Trade Center. Activision and Vicarious Visions feared backlash from releasing a New York-centric game featuring the Twin Towers so close to the attacks. This included renaming a level, changing dialogue, and heavily editing entire structures at key points in the game.
