Due to a bug in the game's installer for the PC version, if the game wasn't installed into the default directory and instead into a different one, when attempting to uninstall it the uninstaller would delete the computer's entire hard drive.

Bungie recalled all copies of the game and replaced it with a 1.1 version, which affected Bungie's profits in the process.
