The original cover athlete is former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre. Five days before the game was released in North America, Favre had been traded to the New York Jets. Rather than recalling all copies, EA allowed fans to print out a brand new cover featuring Favre now in the New York Jets uniform.
