Sujimon Sensei describes Hawaii as being "blessed by the sun and the moon." Considering that Sujimon Sensei and several other related elements introduced in Yakuza: Like a Dragon are parodies of the Pokémon series, this line is most likely a reference to Pokémon Sun & Moon, which takes place in a region inspired by Hawaii.

While it’s widely believed Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the first game in the Like A Dragon series to feature a portion set in the United States, there was actually a cutscene at the beginning of Kurohyo 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen set in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kaito, Sugiura, and Makoto from the Judgment sub-series make cameo appearances in the games Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Despite this, Judgment's main protagonist Takayuki Yagami has never made a cameo in the Yakuza series. This may be due to the fact that his face was modeled after his voice actor, Takuya Kimura, who is a popular celebrity in Japan and could be expensive to license out.

In the Japanese dub, upon meeting Eiji Mitamura for the first time on the plane, Eiji will tell Ichiban the French phrase "Bon voyage" (usually translated to English as "have a nice trip"). In the English dub, this was changed to the Hawaiian phrase "a hui hou" (translated to English as "until we meet again") to fit with the Hawaiian setting of the game.

The virtual YouTuber KSon voices the character Kei in both the English and Japanese dubs of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. KSon noted that while she found it easier to voice act in Japanese, the staff in the studio praised her pronunciation during voice recording.

Two of Kiryu’s Bucket List memories in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth with the shared title "Dreams of a Past Life" have Kiryu reminisce on dreams he had where he was the historical figures Miyamoto Musashi and Sakamoto Ryoma. This references two games thought to be non-canonical spin-offs: Ryuu ga Gotoku Kenzan! and Like a Dragon: Ishin!, and suggests them to have actually been Kiryu’s dreams the whole time. This is also notable as Ryuu ga Gotoku Kenzan! has yet to receive an English release.

The character Andre Richardson from Yakuza 3 is notorious for speaking in poor English despite him being American, with one line especially where he says:
In saying the line, "roof" is pronounced more as "ruff". This meme was referenced with his return in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, where in the English dub, after Ichiban spends a night at the bar he runs, he says the line:
And during this line he says the word roof in a similar matter.
"If you're looking for Daigo, Mine's taken him up to the roof."
