Denis Charnov, the co-director of the popular Russian cartoon Kikoriki who had previously worked as an animator on Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, was listed in the end credits of I.M. Meen as an animator. However, when shown cutscenes from the game in an interview, he claimed that he did not "remember making anything like that."
