Era's Adventures drew attention at its release for the unauthorized use of Yoshi from the Mario series as its main character, Era. The game's creator Botond Kopacz claimed to not be familiar with Yoshi, and simply purchased a model off of the 3D model licensing website TurboSquid assuming it to be a generic lizard. The model itself is not actually derived from a Nintendo game and appears to be original. Following legal threats from Nintendo, Era would be reworked into a blue dinosaur loosely inspired by Yoshi, and after that version was also taken down, he was redesigned again to be a 4-legged dog named Jack with no resemblance to Yoshi.
