In memory of Dungeons & Dragons co-creator Gary Gygax, a small shrine was added to the dungeon Delera's Tomb as part of update 7, for which Gygax himself had provided narration for the quests there.

In memory of Dungeons & Dragons co-creator Dave Arneson, as part of the "The Abandoned Excavation" quests in the Ruins of Threnal (which Arneson himself had narrated), players who complete it are rewarded with a cloak called the Mantle of the Worldshaper as a tribute to Arneson.
