While several games were released during Nintendo's "Year of Luigi" event, Dr. Luigi is the only one released in that timespan to directly acknowledge the event itself via a label that can be seen on the pedestal that he stands on in-game.

And they still kept that label even after there became no point in having it following when the Year of Luigi came to a finish.
