The back of the PAL release claims that this is the first game in which Super Saiyan God Goku is a playable character. However, this statement is only half true: while this is the first Dragon Ball game released outside of Japan to feature a playable Super Saiyan God Goku, it's actually the third game overall with this feature.

The previous two games were the arcade titles Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale and Dragon Ball Heroes in 2013 through updates, although they were both exclusively released in Japan. Super Saiyan God Goku also appeared prior in Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for the 3DS, though he was non-playable.
