The game was going to be remade by Eden Games, who developed the critically panned 2008 sequel to the series, also titled Alone in the Dark. After the mostly negative response to the sequel, the remake was temporarily cancelled. Later however in 2018, Atari SA would sell the series rights to THQ Nordic, who would revive the remake now being developed by Pieces Interactive, and it released for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in 2024.

Now I have made an edit to the submission mentioning the remake that is coming to Xbox Series X and PS5, of which I hopefully phrased right.

EDIT: Thanks for allowing the submission to update. Sorry though that I can't remember what symbols to use for developers, and using the | in Xbox Series X|S doesn't seem to be recognised as not being something that links something else.

Did not mean to report this submission, what I said was meant for the comments. Basically I was wondering if an upcoming Xbox Series X and PS5 game might have something to do with the cancelled Alone In The Dark remake being referred to.
