Honestly, having read a lot of Sakurai interviews, I can 100% imagine where Claude could be coming from. He does come off as a bit pretentious and stuck-up, and you can see a bit of that self-aggrandizing in Smash's visual and audio presentation. Might be a biased reading though, since I really dislike the direction Smash took after Melee.
