Attachment When Beta 1.4 was released (April 1st, 2011), there was a small chance of every chunk spawning a block that is now called "Locked Chest" which, when right-clicked, displayed a menu saying "Steve Co. Supply Crate". This is a nod to Team Fortress 2's Mann Co. Supply Crates. Clicking the "Go to Store" button opened a browser window to the newly created Minecraft Store, which sold 12 items:
• Steve Co. Supply Crate Key ($3)
• Steve Co. Supply Crate Key 5-Pack ($18)
• Miner's Helmet ($21)
• Name Change ($99)
• Creeper Saddle ($42)
• Secret Griefer Identity ($155)
• Enlargement Pill ($2)
• Response From Support ($494)
• Three "Coming Soon" items (Priced at $75, $7, and $1499)
• "Regular Padlock" for $8.

Items could be "purchased" by clicking on them. Once the cart reaches $10,000 worth of items, a pop-up appears advising you to click cancel if you're prone to seizures. If you click OK, the screen starts flashing various colors.

Clicking the Checkout button caused a Velociraptor sound effect with an error in the "checkout" process. On April 2nd, a banner was added which floated the words "April Fools!" across the screen, accompanied by a midi instrumental of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up".

The "Locked Chest" item was meant to be removed on the midnight of April 1st, but since the creator, Markus Persson, was sick, the item was removed on April 5th instead, the day Beta 1.4_01 was released.

In Mulgore, there is a character by the name of Ahab Wheathoof, who gives you a quest to find his lost dog, Kyle. This character was actually created by a child by the name of Ezra Chatterton, who had brain cancer as a child. Ezra was able to go to Blizzard's offices thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and help design the character, who was also voiced by Ezra. Ezra also received the first Ashes of Al'ar, a phoenix mount, phoenix being both Ezra's middle name as well as his in-game name (Ephoenix). Ezra also helped create the Merciless Gladiator's Crossbow of the Phoenix, a crossbow that has the inscription of "Finely crafted to Ephoenix's specification." Unfortunately, Ezra suffered a stroke in August, 2008, and died on October 20th. As one last tribute, the elder that appears in Thunder Bluff during the Lunar Festival was renamed to Ezra Wheathoof.

Saints Row: The Third

Attachment In one of the game's trailers (created by Tim & Eric of Adult Swim fame) it is revealed that Professor Genki was a renowned professor of science at the Science University College of Science. Genki taught along side Todd, his pet cat whom he loved. Genki, fearing his own mortality, set to work on creating a magical device that would fuse the two together so that they may live forever in harmony as a half-man half-cat being. The experiment was a success. People were in awe of Professor Genki's new form, as his head had morphed into that of a cat. He then became the international spiritual leader, replacing the Pope. The experiment wasn't without side-effects, as Genki's enlarged brain gave him powers far beyond any mortal and an insatiable appetite for wet cat food and human brains. He became all powerful, supreme and a worshiped leader. The nature of Genki was irreversible.

Mega Man Zero 3
1
Attachment Before the final phase of the Omega boss fight, Omega Zero exclaims, "Ware wa meshia nari!" which means "I am the Messiah!" This quote is also used before the battle against Omega Zero in Mega Man ZX. This fortifies the fact that many characters refer to Omega as "The God of Destruction". The reason behind him saying that inside Zero's original body may be due to the fact that Dr. Wily originally made Zero as a "God of Destruction" and when Omega (being a consciousness) was put into Zero's original body he sought out to fulfill Zero's original purpose.
