Attachment During a cutscene where 'The Chaos' attempts to grab Lightning, there is a hidden message among the yellow lines as she disappears. The message says "Pray for Japan" which was not known because it was written in a different script (Etro Script, a 3rd type of language used in Final Fantasy XIII). This is most likely a reference to the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake in Japan.

Attachment In level 2-8, Lunar Apocalypse-Lunar Reactor, there is a reference to Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. You can find a dead Luke Skywalker hanging upside down at the back of a cavern. In the N64 version of the game, Luke is replaced with Yoda.

When Sam approaches it, he will say, "Dude, you've been hanging here, like, FOREVER." This is a reference to the then unreleased Duke Nukem: Forever.

During the cutscene before the first battle against Waka, he says "Let's Rock, Baby!" This is a reference to Dante's signature phrase in Devil May Cry. Both games were created by Hideki Kamiya.
In the French verison of the game, Waka's speech translates by "Let's Rock, Baby! As a famous devil hunter will say some day!"
Waka's laser-flute's name is also named "Pillow Talk", the name of the ranking theme in Devil May Cry.

Attachment In Event 39: Jigglypuff Live, the screen in the background will sometimes focus on the player's Jigglypuff. If the player uses "Sing" at this very moment, the other 3 Jigglypuffs will fall asleep, and for longer than usual. This Easter egg only appears in Event 39, which may be appropriately placed in sync with Jigglypuff's National Pokedex number, 39.

Attachment There is evidence suggesting that Pikachu in this game is actually Pichu from Super Smash Bros. Melee, albeit evolved:

•Pikachu in Brawl uses Pichu's wall jump ability from Melee.
•Pikachu's Final Smash in Brawl is Volt Tackle, which, in the Pokemon games, can only be inherited by an egg-born Pichu.
•Pikachu's blue costume in Brawl uses the goggles worn by Pichu's blue costume in Melee.
