These are reminders that he has left for himself, including reminders to call his mom and buy some broccoli and lube. On some notes, the ascii face "ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ" and the "Forever Alone" meme face appear.

Attachment As the female Erudite Wizard, if you remove all of her armor except for the top armor at the inventory screen, then unequip it and quickly tap SELECT to exit the screen to return to gameplay, there's a chance for her to appear completely topless for a brief second. The female Erudite Wizard appears to have an additional skin texture which the other classes do not seem to have.

These characters were named after and modeled in the likeness of the developers of the game. One character, Ed Semrad, is actually based on the Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine editor of the same name.

In Mission 3, you can find two posters of women covered in caution tape. Slicing the caution tape in blade mode will reveal them to be wearing bikinis. In the same mission, there is also a cardboard cutout of a woman, and slicing it will change it into a different one wearing a leather outfit.

Of course, these rumors were false, but it is believed that the inclusion of such a level in Diablo II was to appeal to fans of the series. Blizzard has since made many references to the phrase "there is no Cow level" in their other games.
