In the PS3 re-release, it's possible to obtain a trophy called "Speed of Jason McDonald," which is obtained for beating the game in under 5 hours. The trophy is named after Jason McDonald, the Senior Combat Designer for God of War III, who held the office record for the best speed-run for God of War.

In addition, a default name for the Jester is "Nights", a reference to the titular character of "Nights Into Dreams", whom the Jester bares a resemblance to.

Attachment In the DLC Case "Turnabout Reclaimed", when Phoenix and Athena investigate Shipshape Aquarium's shark cannon near Orla's tank, Phoenix remarks about the cannon balls looking like fish eggs. This gets Athena to suggest they should be baby sharks and says, "I can see it now! The drama! The mayhem! The whirlwind of teeth!" Phoenix then thinks, "A tornado of sharks? Not even Hollywood could conjure up something that insane."

This is a reference to the 2013 made-for-TV film Sharknado, which features a tornado of sharks.

Attachment There's a set of rather useful features that are, for some reason, disabled by default. However, they can be unlocked via a simple "code" on the title screen by clicking on the "N" in "MARIO PAINT" to start the staff roll and, when "PROGRAMMER NORIAKI TERAMOTO" appears, holding the right button and clicking the "N" again. By doing so, the player will unlock a series of available commands, most of which are utilized through the right button.

The list of (currently known) hidden features are as follows:
• Right-clicking anywhere on the screen will activate Undodog (with a few exceptions).
• Right-clicking on the canvas in the Stamp Editor will sample the pixel color underneath the cursor.
• Four new rotation options are available in addition to the old horizontal/vertical flip options (see screenshot).
• Pressing L + R + Start + Select on Controller 2 will reset the game (code will need to be entered again).
