It is likely that Manhunt is set within the same universe as the Grand Theft Auto series, which are both published by Rockstar. There are multiple references to stores and locations in both games, and the setting for Manhunt, Carcer City, is directly referenced in multiple Grand Theft Auto games.

Attachment Near the end of the second stage of the game there is a giant hologram of Jabba the Hutt. If the player destroys the three slot machines in front of this hologram, they will receive a red Holocron containing a costume of Guybrush Threepwood (cleverly named Guybrush Threepkiller) of Monkey Island fame.

Attachment The background of Ken's stage holds multiple cameo appearances of Capcom characters as guests at Eliza's birthday party.

In addition to the cameo characters, Capcom's chairman and CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto also appears as the servant on the far right.

Furthermore, the teddy bear Strider Hiryu is holding is an homage to a deceased Capcom employee who worked on the cancelled SuperGrafx version of Strider.

Attachment During a codec conversation in the Jungle Maze, Campbell will say that the radar is being jammed by a substance called "Minovsky molecules". This is a reference to "Minovsky particles" from Mobile Suit Gundam, which have several effects including radar jamming.

Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories

In Disgaea 2, there is a sword named the Sesshomaru. Its description reads "Hurry up and find the damn jewel shards!" These are both references to the anime/manga "InuYasha": the titular progatonist's brother was named Sesshomaru, and the shards of the "Shikon-no-tama" jewel were an important plot point. The acidic description is also a reference to InuYasha's aggresive attitude.

If Donkey Kong uses his ground pound move while near the four TVs, they will turn on. Two of the TVs will have the title screen for the English version of Donkey Kong Country: Returns playing, while the other two will have the Japanese version playing.
Twisted Metal 4

This will also enable the player to ride a dolphin in Dolphin Park in the the Normal difficulty Championship mode, by holding Down on the D-Pad or Control Stick while selecting a rider.

Throughout the game, a heavily corrupted cake recipe will scroll across various computer monitors. On the second to last level of the game, a GLaDOS memory core will also recite the recipe. Many of the ingredients on the list are real Black Forest Cake ingredients, however there are oddball ingredients including rhubarb, polyester resins and many miscellaneous fish-shaped objects.
